Solid little place if you're not tight on a budget.
I will say that my partner and I have been coming here for about a year and a half or so now, and the menu/prices have been updated (with the same food, just updated boards/menu) enough times (3) that I cannot go back other than those times I can't help but crave authentic, good mexican food.
So, firstly, the food is good with slightly smaller than id like portions and the salsa is made daily and so will always have those authentic little changes like too runny this day, more spicy this day, ect.
Now, the drawback for making this a regular spot is just a little bit too high pricing. You order at the door with the menu in front of you, with no prices displayed, so you get what your heart and stomach tell you and just pay after. 8 tacos and a flatbread runs you about $55-60ish. The flatbread is about 16$, tacos are $5-6 each no matter what protein/main ingredient you choose.
If you go, I'm sure the food will be good and the authentic store next door is definitely an attractor with its hard to find Hispanic products. Just be mindful of your choices if you go in hungry because you will end up paying for it. You could pay $18 for three tacos here, or head to another mexican restaurant that'll give you a rice beans protein platter and tortillas for the same price versus just tortilla, protein...
Read moreOk so I'm half Hispanic and grew up in TX on a border town to Tamualipas, Mexico. So I'm used to food from that area (like Matamoros style Tacos). This food was great! Not the exact same but great! And will be back!
The lengua tacos are AMAZING!! Probably one of the best I've ever had. The meat is soft and so flavorful. When I go back that will be my regular order from now on. We tried the steak tacos, the pastor tacos, quesadilla and the burrito. All were delicious. Everyone was satisfied.
A few cons: the menu is intimidating and not easy to read, and understand what it is they're serving. I suggest paying someone to revamp and make it easier for customers to read so they don't take as long to stand there and order. no queso fresco I wanted a few more authentic stuff like menudo (I understand though that you have to serve what the public will eat and most in this area will not eat this)
The service is good and attentive. They accepted cards. They only have bottled and canned drinks, they do have Mexican cokes.
I've been in twice now and the 1st time took a bit bc they make it as you order (love that) but if there is several tables there it could take a little longer than you might like. The 2nd time the other table already had their food so it was quick for us probably 15min to...
Read moreWhen I first walked in everyone was really nice and was very helpful as I placed a $95 order that I didn’t know was $95 I simply asked for a receipt and the Young lady immediately got an attitude and went to the back and started talking about paying customers in Spanish thinking that we did not know what she was saying but I am partly Hispanic and my primary language is Spanish and just because we placed our order in English made her think otherwise and that was very disrespectful and when I confronted her about it she said “no importa “ which means it’s not important and that it’s OK for her to do that we will never come back to this restaurant and I advise other people who look a different culture to not come to this restaurant because the way you will be treated ants the cashiers excuse for this girl wise I’m sorry she’s tired and grumpy she did not get much sleep but that is not the...
