As a person who has to much money to waste on food, I feel like I have a pretty good Idea of what makes a good restaurant. Picassos is a great restaurant, and many other Rhode Islanders would say it’s not as good as it used to be, I’d argue they’re still worth a shot. Starting with their service, I’ve never had a issue. Unlike other local pizza places I usually always get connected to someone within the first call. The people running the phones are always nice, and the drivers get their job done. The only downside is the long wait time, which is bound to happen with any actual pizza place that makes their food fresh. Their prices are reasonable enough for what you get and I can happily justify wasting money on their food. Speaking of food, they have a larger than most menu, of which I’ve had enough to where I feel like I could write a review about them. Their pizza, bluntly isn’t my favorite, still edible and I can see why someone would regularly eat it in their own right, I find their thin crust helps make it better. Their calzones are a whole different monster, by far the best in Warwick, and better than anything restaurant quality that I’ve had. Their mozzarella sticks aren’t great, but something I was really surprised about was their French fries, Jesus their French fries are better than anything homemade and you would be hard pressed to find something better (unless you like something cheap with so much salt you end up in a coma). Finally their meats, their chicken tenders are good, not a kfc crispy type breaded chicken or anything but definitely beats out anything from a grocery store. And their burgers, honestly top 5 in Warwick, only beat out by places like Shannon view and Newport creamery, yet still very good in their own right (I’ve only had the black angus so that’s the baseline for the comparison). If your a drinker they even have a bar; I’ve never sat down for a drink but I can’t imagine it being much different from any other. So at the end of the day, Picasso’s is a 5* and if you haven’t had it before, step out of your dominos and Papa Ginos safe space and try a local...
Read moreThis used to be one of our favorite places to hang out. We used to go here at the very least 4 times a week. Amanda has always been our favorite waitress but all of the other girls and guys are wonderful too. Even during this pandemic we used to order "carry out" very often or sometimes "delivery", and we always made sure to tip the guys over 20% because we know that the small businesses are struggling during this pandemic and most of their staff are working part-time only so we wanted to show our support and gratitude to them. Unfortunately, not anymore!!! The last two times that we have order from them we have had issues with our order. The first time, the pizza for our 10yr old son was completely burned and they delivered it 30 minutes after the time promised. Still, we tip the driver, because it wasn't his fault that the cook and the person handling orders didn't do their job well. But the last time was even worse. They never delivered our food!!! When we called to check on the status, they said that they thought it was carry out. We understand that we are human beings and that everyone makes mistakes. But the issue is that the guy didn't apologize for the incident nor solve it. He just offered to deliver our order (the SAME order) after having us waiting for almost two hours and we had french fries, pizza and other stuff, that of course, would had been soggy and not enough warm by then. He didn't mention that he was gonna talk with his manager nor offered to make a delivery later on "at no cost"... NOTHING!!! We mentioned that we had a child at home wating to eat, but that didn't seem to be important. We are just not going back there and we had been going to Piccasso's since they opened. It is very sad for us that they don't know how to handle situations like this. Too bad......
Read moreI visited RI this week and heard about the karaoke on Saturdays. My friends and I came out to eat and enjoy the music. We ordered sodas and a pizza at the bar and sat down at a table to wait. We had our drinks on the table and were talking amongst ourselves when a staff member asked if we needed a menu. The pizza came out and it wasn't terrible, but not great either. I'm from the New Haven, CT area so I've had some of the best. But the peppers weren't cooked and there was hardly any meatball. Another friend came to meet us at the table and no one asked if they needed a menu or wanted to order anything. They didn't ask if we needed a 4th plate. One friend sang a song. We were still eating when the staff member came back and asked if we wanted to box up the rest. We felt uncomfortable and rushed. We would have stayed longer and ordered alcohol after eating if we didn't feel like we weren't welcome to stay. It took a long time to pay at the bar and one of my friends started feeling sick while we were waiting. The customers and bartender were friendly at least. And there were plenty of tables and bar stools. The ladies room is VERY small. It's not their fault, but the layout of the building is weird and there are lots of steps in front, nothing was handicap accessible. I wish we had gone...
