Providence Provisions — Restaurant in Warwick

One of the worst experiences ever while traveling. Arrived early for a flight and decided to sit down for breakfast. The sign clearly states seat yourself. As we we walk in all of the 4 tops were very dirty with dishes on them so we sat at a table that had no dishes but still had the previous customers check and money left on it, but for the most part it was clean.

The rudest server approach and is visibly agitated and aggressively engage us. I really loved the the sarcastic comment “Are you guys from here?” I said “yeah we are… are you?” I could sense where this was headed. I said excuse me have we done something wrong ? And she says “ you sat at dirty table” and stormed off. When she returned to wipe it off she continued with her aggressiveness. and I said “I’m not sure what’s happening here” and again she stormed off the bar area. I decide to get up and approach her to have a calm discussion. Again, I said “I don’t understand what is actually happening here and we’ve done to warrant this greeting at 6AM.” She went on about about how when it was Covid they could have gotten a fine for seating people at a dirty table. This server looked like she was on the verge of psychotic break. I returned to the table and grabbed my family and we decided to walk down to the Dunkin instead (super friendly btw). She needs help…more ways than one and I hope...

I attempted to dine here on a Sunday night considering the restaurant reviews that were highly rated given the available options in this tiny airport. Unfortunately the reviews do not live up to expectations. The female server was clearly overwhelmed and didn’t have any help cleaning the tables. We decided to take our chances given the reviews - little did we know, the woman did not make the effort to take our order or clean our table. She decided to clean a table and take the orders of another couple who arrived after us.

We decided to wait another 5-10 minutes to see if she would come take our order and clean our table. And she did not - and clearly did not want our patronage.

In reflection, she was being racist because of our background in comparison to the White couple who sat after us.

Will not be back and don’t recommend others to dine...

Jessica R at Providence Provisions provided excellent customer service at the Rhode Island Airport restaurant. Jessica was kind, prompt and truly cared about our experience; making it enjoyable while we waited for our flight. Traveling is exhausting whether you’re beginning or ending your trip and you’re always ready to get home so arriving at the airport hours early can be frustrating but a necessary task. Providence Provisions provided a relaxing atmosphere for us to enjoy a meal while we waited three hours for our flight. The meal was very reasonably priced and delicious. We told Jessica upon being seated that we weren’t in any hurry because we had four hours before departure. We were never rushed or felt pressured to leave.
