We went for mother's day... we had a group of 11 and were sat in the back room which is nice. The service was VERY slow . We waited over an hr for our food after we ordered it. I ordered prime rib medium rare and made sure the waiter knew I wanted it MEDIUM RARE. It came out and it had NO pink OR red what's so ever. My mother in law and husband both ordered the chicken parm with a side of sauce. It was never mentioned to them that the extra sauce would cost an additional $2.50 each. My mother in law never even received her extra sauce but they charged us for it. We did ask to have it taken off the bill which the waiter did. We ordered a couple of pitchers of water for the table and it took at least 20 minutes for the waiter to deliver it to our table, and then almost another 15 minutes to get water glasses. My father in law ordered the baked ham and it was just a pile of cut up pieces of ham on his plate. It was also extremely dry. I was extremely embarrassed 8n front of my family as it was me who suggested we eat here for Mothers day. I didn't want to send my meal back to be cooked correctly because I didn't want the rest of the party to have to wait for me to finish my meal. I ate a few bites and I ate the salad , boxed up the meat and gave it to our neighbors dog. The waiter never even asked if we wanted coffee or dessert which we did want. He just brought the bill to the table and walked away. We had reservations for 2 pm and we were seated by 205. But didn't walk out of the restaurant until 5:15. We did ALOT of waiting . At one point I asked the waiter how many tables he was waiting on and he said ours and 2 other small tables. It really wasn't an enjoyable experience. I have ALWAYS had great food and service when I have been here in the past, but after this bad experience 8am not sure I will be going back. Our drinks...
Read moreWe go to many restaurants on a regular basis. We came here only because we had a gift certificate to use. I wish I could include photos, as it was really funny and hard to believe. We ordered ‘drinks’ which is basically Sutter Home or beer. A pumpkin martini was offered but it is still summer. We started with the side salad which was fresh and cold. The waitress was pleasant. We ordered apps and chose calamari supreme- which was good, and also mozzarella sticks which were gooey liquidy made Sonic look like 5 star. Couldn’t eat more than that bite. Spouse ordered prime rib 80% fat, and I dined on eggplant parm which tasted pretty good, but enough grease for a day at a car lot of oil changes. You are wondering why the 2 star??.. well the corn on the cob that came with hubby’s 26.99 entree’ looked half eaten. It was all in the middle& looked like the misfit toy. In really bad shape.. must’ve been on a final sale clearance. We ordered desert to- go to attempt to use up the gift card. We could see the waitress from our table bagging up our desert. She dropped it on the floor, looked around quick, and put it in the bag and delivered it to our table. We still left a good tip. We still had $9 left on the card, so we paid it forward and gave it to a table near ours. Don’t sit near the window because if a child puts their hand down on the side of the bench, there is a thick electric cord and junction box within tiny hands with a whole lotta amps. If you enjoy a 70’s style paneled restaurant, then this...
Read moreMy family has been coming in here since before I was born, and we were loyal patrons for at least 50 years. Loved everything about the place, including Greta and the other bartender who has been here forever as well.
I am very disappointed to say that the last few experiences here were very disappointing.
Our waiter - an older guy with dark hair and sort of a sketchy demeanor) was extremely - Extremely rude: hostile, condescending, and slamming plates down on the table. (we still left a tip, a good tip, but I’ll make an appoint to go to the bar next time so I can be treated with dignity and courtesy.)
Both of us are former waitstaff (West Valley Inn and Quidnessett country club for me; Spain for my other dinner companion, so we know very well the difference between high tipping patrons like our self and inconsiderate Boomers’ who probably never waited a table in their life):
I haven’t been back since the slamming of the plate incident, but I hope that when I do return and give them another chance, that the imbalance gentleman who works in the dining room has moved on. If he is still there, I’ll ask for another waiter and I’ll explain in full detail why.
Don’t bring your problems into work and take them out on the patrons who tip in excess of 25% and who...
