Sunnyside Restaurant — Restaurant in Warwick

Just moved to the area and searching for our new local breakfast spot. We have tried this place 3 times wanting so much to like it but it is quite simply mediocre AT BEST. Absolutely nothing positive stands out about this place. Cold toast, eggs cooked the way you want, same thing you get at every single other breakfast joint. The 3 meals I had came with homefries... of which there were LITERALLY 20 no larger than the size of my thumbnail deep fried to the point that they were all hard as a rock. This happened all 3 times... I actually laughed when the plate arrived. All I could think was that they really must be trying to cut costs to stay in business! I mean the homefries were EMBARASSINGLY skimpy. If I were the owner/waitress/cook I would be surely be embarrassed to serve the plate that way. I mean at least use smaller plates to make it SEEM like you're not being ridiculously cheap! However, in my restaurant experience, potatoes are SO inexpensive, have a pretty decent/lengthy shelf life and are the one breakfast item that pretty much gets served with everything on the breakfast menu and you can truly "make your own" and stand out from the crowd of competing breakfast joints. There's no doubt in my mind that they literally buy these things frozen by the bag, which sheds light on the quality of the food in general here. Thier "menu specials" are not inventive at all which again is another way that a restaurant can set themselves apart from thier competitors. I will Definitely not be going back after giving this place 3 chances. Save your money, or head to McDonald's or Dunkin for equal quality frozen processed stuff you will get here.... well, aside from the eggs which are probably the only fresh items in...

I gave two stars only because I had gone here for so long. This was my hubby and I's favorite breakfast spot until this past winter. They do not pay their heat bill, and they had a one way in and one way out system that freezes everyone inside when a door is opened. Food was always ice cold as a result as well. They are always cheerful, the food is cheap but good...however they get lazy. We were regulars every single weekend and every weekend they'd cook my breakfast incorrectly. We always sat in front of the kitchen, you'd think they say "oh yeah, those folks like their hash well done" but nope. I always told the waitress too but they still cant follow simple directions. After TWO YEARS we finally had had enough and found a new breakfast place. Dont get strawberry toppings either, they use frozen ones that taste...

Let me just say that the entire experience wasn't bad just the service from our waitress was the reason for the score. We sat down and was handed menus then never saw our waitress again until I had to flag her down for drinks waited another 10 to 15 minutes until I had to flag her down again to order food, once our food was order the real hodini trick began she totally disappeared and if it wasn't for the really nice waitress who I thought became our waitress handled our table for the rest of our meal. Thank you to that waitress. I only found out she wasn't our waitress when I asked for the check and she said this wasn't her table and she went and tracked down the first girl to hand us our check. Don't get me wrong the food is good but some of the wait staff could be trained to wait on the table from sit down...
