Now this is definitely a place to go.... it was a cozy inside and a big PLUS for the good staff! I really enjoyed this place for a many reasons. One it was cozy for a cold winter day with the fireplace. The windows all around in the dining area, you can see the ocean as you are. ( I can only imagine in the summer time when all those windows and doors are open to feel that ocean breeze. ) I will be back to find out! So, I scanned the little card at the table and wow.... you can actually order and pay as you sit . You use your camera and a website pops up, I took a screen shot in the pics below, but I really liked this ... you never know if you don’t want lesser contact this is good was a good way to do that. Or if it ever gets too busy you still have that option. ( I didn’t use it but I like the idea of it) . I have to say, it was really good food and the prices. We order the steak tip with the rice pilaf. This lunch special came with the steak tips, rice pilaf, clam chowder with two clam cakes and PLUS a dessert at the end. ALL for $12.95 wow they had drinks specials too !! I did post the menus. We were full with this and happy! After your lunch or dinner.. you can actually walk over to the ocean to catch that sun rising, sunset or the sunshine on you. The hours are different in the summer time they are opened 7 days a week and this place is NOT a only to eat, during the summer they have live music in their dining top part of the building. All the windows open up and the summer fun comes out! When I return during the summer I will be reviewing and taking pics ... Remember DIFFERENT hours this place is opened in different seasons! They do have a number to call ahead to check out their hours or their website. I also wanted to add... great job cleaning and distancing during the Covid 19 restrictions! 5 stars for me! It’s definitely a saved place in my maps that I will be...
Read moreOur party planned to go to Top Of The Bay for an early dinner and I’ve had been looking forward to it all week. As we approached the entrance, we were greeted by unique and colorful flower pots with beautiful annuals. Once inside, I immediately noticed the immaculately clean and inviting foyer. We were greeted immediately by a friendly hostess and seated near a wall of large windows. The dining room was spotless, complete with crisp, white table cloths, beautiful cobalt blue glassware, and a lovely view of the bay. My host ordered steamers, that were repaired beautifully along with a half dozen local oysters that were equally delicious. The boiled lobster dinner was prepared to perfection and accompanied by two sides and choice of soup or salad. I wanted to try something that I’ve never had there before so I had the Pt Judith calamari and baked stuffed shrimp. I haven’t had baked stuffed shrimp in years and boy, was it a good choice. Five jumbo shrimp with delicious seafood stuffing. Needless to say I had to take half of them home as my meal also came with two sides and a cup of the best seafood chowder I’ve ever had. The offering of complimentary dinner rolls with basil butter, hummus, and olive oil was a nice touch. Overhearing the party at the next table being offered gelato peaked my interest, even though I knew I didn’t have room for dessert. The waitress offered us samples so that we could try the gelato next time. The service of this young waitress was exceptional. Her enthusiasm and confidence reflects her high level of commitment as well as the restaurant’s quality of their training. Clearly, she likes her job. She was attentive, made recommendations checked back a few times and was quick to bring us takeout containers and deliver the bill. We will most definitely be back soon, to try some other of this fantastic restaurant’s offerings…and some pistachio or...
Read moreI was extremely disappointed in a hugely popular restaurant ocean view, inside was hot, service we had to keep asking for basic things like water, butter, the menu was not even extravagant for a ocean restaurant, basic, but the food, I took back my meal twice and I never ever do that. The menue said large soft belly clams. OMG, they were tiny, I ordered fried, it was all hard, not one large soft juicy belly, so then I said fish and chips. Figured they couldn't mess that up. Came out quick, I swear to God, the fish was not cooked, all slimy. Mushy. Soft,, I took a few bites and said out loud to others this is not cooked, the woman came over said how is the fish and chips, I was so embarrassed to say it was undercooked, she didn't believe me, oh no everything comes out fresh. I paid, I was t trying to get out of the bill. The atmosphere for a multimillion restaurant was a dump to put it plainly. With all their money, looking over the ocean, they should have had a knockout menue, and decorated to the tens. Everything was so old and outdated, the steps, the rubber was hanging off, I even said out loud someone is going to get hurt, it was taken off after I said that, their relaxing atmosphere upstairs with music, the ocean breeze, was a filthy cement floor, locked doors, no music, no lights, no fancy tables or chairs, my back hurts so much from the metal dollar store chairs they had, it could be so gorgeous, so classy, elegant, I was blown away. Just the food I would never go back, then it went downhill from there. There are vfw bars their food is better then theirs, they should be ashamed, but raking in the money for the view. And when you did go upstairs for entertainment, there was none, no waiters, nothing, we had to ask for everything. So disappointing, good thing I was in...
