I've been coming to this dennys for the last 8 years on my drive back and forth from San Diego to Sacramento. Right from the start there were problems. I have always substituted the bacon and sausage for an extra egg. The waitress told me they are not allowed to do it. She said she would ask the manager but told me most likely I would have to pay. She returned to inform me that they would be able to substitute my eggs for no extra charge. Few moments later she came out with 2 incomplete meals out of the 4 total. There wasn't even any silverware on the table. My egg whites were runny and undercooked. We still did not have any silverware. 5 minutes later the waitress came out with the other 2 meals which were also incomplete. My wife ordered the Alaskan skillet and it was completely over cooked, there was one small piece of avocado the size of a French fry and maybe 5 potatoes (not exaggerating). Half of the skillet didn't even have food on it which I've never seen at a Denny's before. The other skillet was a chorizo plate which had an equal amount of potatoes and half the meal missing. The food looked as if it were thrown in the microwave and put onto the skillet. Another 5 minutes passed by and she finally brought out the extra potatoes we ordered. At this time we had to remind her about the order of French fries. The water taste as if someone dumped a tablespoon of water in it. This was the worst experience I have had with food/service quality at Denny's. It was so terrible we felt bad for the server because we could tell she hasn't been trained properly. I have never written a review before but I couldn't let this go. Hope this helps anyone thinking about eating here. My family really enjoyed Denny’s for many years until yesterday.!! after few hrs on the road we decide to stop to get some food my oldest daughter ask me if I can drive to the next rest area because it was a Denny's on the map. OK why not everybody love it. when we entrance to the restaurant so the waitress took us at the very hidden end of restaurant when the restaurant was almost empty, so maybe they are cleaning I thought, wait for probably 10 min for same person ask us for drinks.! another 10 min to drinks came we placed a order & me we have been waiting for more than 50min for food. my wife & me decide to leave paid for the drinks and ask to somebody if it was an specific reason for the long wait. when we start walking i notice there it was people eating already when the place was almost empty when we arrive, so that's mean they came after us. i ask the waitress why and not answer. I asked the cashier for the manager when I explain the situation to him the waitress finally response, arguing because I requested a welldone tbone (really 1hr to cook a steak??) & that was it no more words from manager or others team members around him. the manager was totally indifferent to this, he only said i wont charge you for food that you didn't eat. At the end after 1:20min I took my family & leave the place with not food and not even an apology.! its not about the time i never feel humiliated on this way on my entire life. even worst My 2 little girl were witness the kind of discrimination that is arising at CA. What kind of answer I have to give to them.???

Then they gave us chicken strips cut into pieces smothered in buffalo sauce instead of wings & thought we wouldn't notice. There was a short hair in the ranch. Onion rings were burnt. The hash browns were underdone & somewhat cold. Everyone's food came separately & took a long time to come to the table. Half of our table received half of their order & waited a long time for the rest, not being able to eat their eggs & sausage with their French toast because by the time it arrived, the first plate would have definitely been cold. Something was definitely wrong with the chef that day. Service was slow yet they appeared to be well staffed & 2 of the waitresses were incompetent which became obvious when asking for takeout containers. Then to make matters worse, we took our mozzarella sticks to go & when we tried to eat them later on they literally had no cheese inside & were completely hollow.
