El Molino Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Waseca

A little awkward at the entrance, waited more than 10 minutes to get someone to take our order (maybe they didn't like that we ordered water to drink but they had neither of my preferred drinks with Mexican food) after receiving our chips, salsa and drinks. After that it moved quickly, and you could see the staff hustling. It got busy, though it wasn't very busy at all when we got there or were waiting to give our order. I was underwhelmed by the chips and salsa. This place is clearly rated as the best restaurant in town, so maybe my expectations were too high. The food was good, but I honestly preferred El Tequila's chips and salsa, food and atmosphere plus I could get horchata and sangria at El Tequila. My daughter eats mostly salads out and she highly preferred her salad and the choices of salads at El Tequila. The atmospheres are as different as night and day, though both are warmly welcoming and have the bright paint you expect in a Mexican restaurant. If you want a bustling, brightly lit, Southwest desert feel with a huge inventive menu, then El Molino is going to be your preference. If you like a more relaxing, quieter, shady grotto feel, and salads or traditional Mexican drinks are important to you, then go...

Food was delicious. Experience was awful. First the owner decided to aggressively sweep the floors and rugs, kicking up a cloud of dust while we were still eating. About 15 minutes later, very wet, sloppy floor mops came out with a loud barn fan to dry the floors. Ruined the last half of my meal, not to mention my friend and I sat and looked at each other because we couldn't visit over the noise of the fan. My wife, daughter, and I stopped here on our way back from Matawan. We were totally unaware of just how good this restaurant was going to be. Imagine a restaurant where you leave feeling like you got more than what you paid for. The food here differs from the somewhat repetive flavor profiles that a lot of Mexican restaurants have and instead offers a large and diverse selection of flavorful food that will exceed expectations! You won’t be disappointed!

Not to mention the incredible staff on top of it...
