Oh Lord.. So SAD...Where do I start???? This place is ridiculous. Dont waste your money please... Go to La Esperanza instead... SO MUCH better, I promise....
When we arrived we were super hungry and excited to try this place, since we pass by it all the time
The entrance to the place is weird and a bit misleading. We get inside and were greated warmly and seated quickly, awesome. The waitress (lets call her "G") was super sweet and you could tell she was super busy.
When it came time to order, that's where they started losing it. First, when seated you get chips and salsa.. great. But on the menu in big letters it says that you must pay extra for a reup on the chips and salsa..weird...it's like $3 to ask for more.
I wanted a combo which came with an enchilada and a chalupa (which is like a huge taco), choice of meat and rice and beans.... pretty standard. I chose chicken and she said.... oh.. the chalupas don't come with meat... wait..WHAAA?? Like... When does a chalupa not come with meat? I was confused and she said, yeah "here" they don't come with meat, if you want meat, then it would be a Tostada.. I was so confused... she then said, I will go ahead and make sure they put meat on it for you.. I thanked her.. we ordered a regular size of guacamole as an app as well.
We got our food... and honey.... this was NOT IT.. first, the guacamole appetizer was literally a dollop put in a small cup the size of a cupcake liner. My son literally took half of it in on scoop with his chip. That was $4!! And it was clearly store bought not made fresh.. no onion, no tomatoes, barely seasoned... a big joke. Then my sis and I looked at our dishes (we ordered the same thing except she opted for beef) were super perplexed. What we had was tostadas with meat, lettuce , a tomato wedge and a dollop of guacamole (same size as the appetizer!) ....
We said, I thought we were getting chalupas and "G" said, those are chalupas...they WERE NOT. What we had was a soggy unseasoned Tostada. I asked if she hadn't requested the meat would we have just gotten a flat Tortilla with lettuce ,a tomato wedge and guacamole??? She said Yes... she admitted that she knew what a chalupa was, but said that at this restaurant đ that's not what you get. Here, if it has meat its a tostada (soggy, not fried), if it doesn't have meat its a Chalupa...
Like, even Taco Bell knows what a Chalupa is!!! The enchilada was also soggy, had no sauce inside or out, was bland as well as the rice and beans.. it was like they threw it together, no baking, just melt cheese on top under a heat lamp. The best thing about the dish was our glass Bottled Mexican sodas. My son (who eats anything) even complained about his beef nachos, NO FLAVOR, and barely ate his food. All in all it was quite the experience that had me and my Sis thinking we were going nuts.. at least we laughed about how ridiculous it all was..
Our server was very sweet and apologized for the expensive dollop and unseasoned food. She even took the guacamole and a soda off the tab. We tipped her well because it's not her fault..
The food was edible and we were starving so we ate most of it with big frowns and blank stares at each other...However, we are never wasting money or time here again. So...

We have gone here around 10 times since they have opened. From when we first went to know, our experience has changed. We went the night of 4/14 and had the WORSE service possible. We usually go with friends to multiple restaurants in the Philly/NJ area and this was the worse service we ever had.
Started in the beginning where we arrived and was told to just sit down (when we asked how long, he didn't give an answer, just said "soon"). They had a lot of takeout orders, and the place was fairly busy. One guy came up to the employee that told us to sit and asked where his takeout was. He was waiting 40 minutes past his time he was told to be there by. The worker apologized and said he did not know.
When we finally were seated, the waitress did not come by for around 25 mins. When she finally did she took our drinks but didnt come back for another 20 minutes (and forgot the wine glasses which we asked for). We didn't want to wait any longer so we ordered our food then. We had an app, and when that came out (which was fast) we asked for small plates. Waited about 10-15 minutes and no small plates came (nor our waitress) so one of us went to the kitchen and asked for plates. Food did not take long to come out, but when it did, it did not come out with a few of the things we asked for (more rice, side of cheese etc). Our waitress never came back (never saw her again the rest of the night) and we had to grab another one of the few waiters they had in the area. We asked for shredded cheese for our fajitas, and they came back out with queso. As we waited for our waitress (and the check) she never came back, so we grabbed ANOTHER waiter who was serving a HUGE party in the room. The waiter seemed to be friendly with them because he would sit down at their table and talk for awhile. We actually had to walk over and ask for his help as he was talking, as he rolled his eyes and went to get our check. When he came back, we quickly looked at the bill, paid it and left.
Honestly, this was a COMPLETE 360 compared to what it was before. I have heard from many people in the area that the service has been HORRIBLE for the past 2 months. I did notice a few of the original servers are not there anymore (they had a long haired individual who seemed to wait on half the tables and was very good but we havent seen him recently)
Look, you can read this review, completely ignore what we said and go anyway. I would just suggest you give yourselves about double the time you plan to spend there, and plan to constantly grab other waiters to get stuff. We read a few reviews on the service and didn't believe it either, until we went this past weekend. We used to go a lot since the food is extremely good and not very pricey. But not at the worth of being there double the time. I will be posting this review on a few other online websites. I think having this type of place in Washington Township is important so I hope they can resolve this server issues...
Read moreI will start with the best part, their salsa is delicious and tasty. Overall all their food is very good and feels very cozy and authentic. I have been at this restaurant 5+ times and probably twice if I count my to-go orders. Here is my only negative thing to say, they cannot handle busy days or crowds. My family came to visit and I decided to take them to try it out. It took over 20 min for us to even be acknowledged at the table. I ordered all the appetizers and we waited over half an hour and still no appetizers and the waitress was lost. I had to order the shrimp cocktail over 4 times until they finally brought it to the table. No refills, no attentions and the manager excuse was the waitress was new. For the food we waited an additional 1+ hour and it came half first and the other half later and on top it was incorrect. It is so uncomfortable that you go out on a family dinner and the food is ready for half of your party only. After we were done eating it was another 30+ min for requesting the check and paying. I find it very difficult for me to return to this location as I was very disappointed and embarrassed to have taken my family there. It became a very stressful dinning experience. Since I like the food ill stick for to-go when I want some good Mexican food until they make the necessary adjustments to properly serve their customers. It was enough to look around and see how frustrated...
