I'm not one who generally likes to go out to restaurants to eat. I always end up having a bad experience whethed it's the food, service or price, something always turns me off and I do not have a positive experience. With that said, I have to tell you about this restaurant that I went to yesterday after my nieces' son, Lucianos' Christening. This restaurant is.a Must visit for everyone!!! And if you have never been to this restaurant, you are missing out on one of today's best places for great hot Italian cuisine; it's in NJ only 10 mins from Walt Whitman Bridge, it's easy to get to get, and is everything aesthetically speaking to please every one of your five senses. It's a beautiful and ambient atmosphere with kind and helpful service! Serving Parties, big and small, all are welcome for lunch or dinner! The amount of parking is sufficient for All party sizes. Now the menu, well can I just say YUMMY!!! The menu is full of decadent dishes that are sure to satisfy! The menu is well stocked and has an array of food and options for a brilliant Italian style lunch or dinner! The menu has so many delicious choices and no matter which you chose you will not be disappointed!! I was with a Party of about 25 adults and everyone's food came out at the same time and hot, which was a huge plus for me! Pasta is generally difficult to keep warm and out plates were all hot and had an abundance of the ingredients they were supposed to have and it was all so absolutely tasty and delicious, flavorful and savory and it definitely has me excited and wanting to go back to try another!! Whatever dish or dishes you chose, it is made with a whole lot of love and experience and is sure to please even the harshest critics!! Thank you to Scarpinatos for a beautiful luncheon and celebrating such a special day for our family, especially my niece Alex, her husband, Dom, and their beautiful baby boy, Luciano. Congratulations and May God Bless!! I hope you.too enjoy your meal at Scarpinatos!!! 💕...
Read moreThis was my first experience here and it was not the best. Let me preempt my review by stating that it was Mother’s Day and maybe they were a little busier than normal. With that being said, in my opinion, it was by no means crowded. We had a reservation (10 people) at 4pm. Things started off great as we were seated on time. Our waitress immediately took our drink orders, and was back to take our food orders by 4:10pm. This is when my main issue began. To make a long story short 1 hour and 10 minutes passed and we still had not received our food. During this time our waitress (who I have zero complaints about) refilled our drinks several times, and somewhere around an hour into our wait assured us that the food would be out soon. They were just a “little” behind. Finally at 5:30pm, we approached the manager and inquired about the hold up. She simply advised that they were behind. All the while we watched other tables being served. Our food finally arrived after approximately 1 and a half hours. All meals did not come out simultaneously. Everyone at the table was served a good 5 minutes before I, and the Mother that we were honoring was served! And for the record the wrong order was brought out to me, and was quickly exchanged for the correct order. No one in our party really cared for their food. The consensus was that the food was mediocre at best. I can only speak directly about my dish (Chicken Parm over linguini) and it was average. Not good, but not bad. The chicken pieces were a little thick which I believe caused them to be dry due to the amount of time needed to cook thoroughly. The sauce was above average (very good). The linguini was also decent. Again, I thought that our waitress was very good. I understand that things were out of her control! I’m undecided on whether or not I will give them another try. I know one day doesn’t define a place, and family members who have eaten here in the past enjoyed it. For now I give...
Read moreMy husband and I went to the restaurant this past Saturday night to celebrate our anniversary. We had tried to call ahead to make a reservation, but were informed that the policy there was "first come, first served." Knowing we might have to wait a while, we went any way. When we arrived, we were told 15 to 20 minutes. Not unreasonable. As we were waiting, a number of patrons entered after us in groups of 3-4 and were seated shortly. As time went on, another man and his wife were questioning the wait time. (They came in just after us.) Finally, forty-five minutes had elapsed and a group of four patrons arrived. They were greeted warmly by someone representing the restaurant (the owner's wife we were later told). They immediately were seated. At this time, I approached the hostess and questioned whether any tables for four were used to seat couples. "Oh, no." I was told. " We don't do that. " Imagine my surprise when we finally were led to a table. All of the tables were arranged for at least groups of four! There were no tables for 2! I was extremely upset and considered leaving at that point. The hostess apologized saying she was sorry. Empty words. It was obvious to me that this was a purposeful act, fill the tables with larger groups first. So wrong! Not "first come, first served." It was now almost 6:30 pm, prime time at restaurants, and I didn't want to be in the waiting situation again. So, we ordered dinner and had a delicious meal and a friendly server. Unfortunately, our earlier experience left us knowing we would never return.
