We have a place at the lake and were looking for a new place to eat so we decided on The Landing Tavern for dinner on Friday August 4 around 7pm...TERRIBLE DECISION! We walked in and were never greeted so we seated ourselves inside. 4 waitresses were working and looked at us multiple times but it took them 15 minutes, literally, to come over and then our waitress said "oh, did you just sit down because I didnt see you". We answered that NO we have been here. It wasn't just us because as we sat there we noticed that others were looking around wondering when they would be waited on as well. Finally she came and took our orders. It took 30 minutes to get our appetizers and we only received 1 (even though we asked for the other to come out first). 2 of us ordered the fish special and let's just say it left a lot to be desired. We had to walk up to the bar and ask for refills 3 times as our waitress spent most of her time outside or SITTING in a chair at the bar. 1person in our party didn't even receive her food (it was only a grilled chicken sandwich) until we were ready to leave. None of us finished our food as it was truly terrible. We tried to be patient and think positively but that got shot down quickly. And it wasn't just us, as two other tables got up and left too. We wanted to give this place a shot because we've heard good things about it but we will not be returning. I'd also like to add that we asked if we could have the sandwich taken off the bill because we didn't get it until after we had asked for our checks and a different waitress said she would go outside and get OUR waitress to come in and address this. After 5 minutes or so our waitress came in and walked past us 5 times over 5 minutes and never said a word to us! We just paid the bill and left! Terrible service and...
Read moreMy husband, son and myself are new to Indian lake and had heard amazing things about this place and had seen a post for their taco night earlier in the week. We finally got the chance to check it out last Saturday August 11. We walked in and were immediately stared down by everyone in there. We walked to the back and sat down at a table. We waited about 10 minutes when a woman approached the table..she literally just stood there. Not a "hello"..or "can i help you?"..just awkward silence. I looked at my husband and asked him what he wanted to drink..at this point he had figured out something was up and asked if the kitchen was open..she looked at us like we were stupid and said "noooo...it isnt. we had a fire". Like i said we were new to the neighborhood. We didnt know and had just seen advertisement of their Thursday taco night. My husband asked a couple more questions she just plain didnt want to be bothered with. I can't imagine we will ever be back. I have never felt so unwelcome anywhere EVER. I felt like we wandered into someones house and were...
Read moreI will start with ,yes today is memorial day weekend,(SUNDAY), and we know that it would be busy. This was our first time here. I have working in the service industry for 30 + years. Been in management most of that time. The young lady that severed us, we could tell was having a day. She was overwhelmed, I'm sure. Understandable. We were there for about 45 minutes when I asked how much longer did she think it would be? Long story short we waited, and glad we did. The food was absolutely amazing. Had the fried potatoes with sausage gravy added, and eggs and rye toast. Yum. Husband got the creamed chip beef and cinnamon swirl pancake. Yum. Always try to remember, we can all have bad days, it's just how we handle it. I'm sorry I didn't catch the young lady's name,( long dark hair) but keep doing your best and you will do great. And to the other young lady that was helping as well. Thank you, Crystal I believe was her name. ( purple hair). We will be back next time...
