Okay, this a review is a newer version of one I posted the day before and I wanted to be as transparent as possible.
So yesterday, Saturday April 26th, I ordered from true Blue through GrubHub, the order never showed up, nobody answered the phone after talking to GrubHub GrubHub refunded my money I left a negative review because they were unable to be contacted.
So today on my way home I decided to stop in to the place, number one they are located inside the slatington Farmer market on route 873 when you walk in the doors of the farmer market go to your left and it's the pizza place and then true Blue.
The staff is very friendly we had a talk we discussed what happened with my review I placed an order for exactly what I ordered the day before and didn't receive and let me tell you when I got it home out of all the gyros all the hummus all of the Mediterranean style food I have consumed in parts of carbon county as well as Lehigh and Northampton county this is hands down the best stuff it was flavor filled it wasn't dried out, it was loaded with vegetables, they didn't go crazy with the tzatziki sauce it was just amazing it was so delicious I actually wanted to jump in my truck and go get more.
Now imagine I'm already kind of got low expectations because of the GrubHub incident then to get home and actually taste the food, I feel bad for jumping to conclusions and writing a one-star review off the jump. I should have tried to make another trip or called them today and instead of you know writing a review that could have hurt their business. But I ended up knowing where they were located so I pulled in now this is my first time eating there and I will without a doubt return without a doubt I am going back now I can only speak for the gyros I can't speak for any of their other offerings but I had the lamb gyro as did my family you know they also offer chicken steak shrimp fish and buffalo chicken I'm not too sure on the buffalo chicken thing because I lived in areas that Mediterranean food is more common and none of those restaurants would offer a buffalo chicken gyros so I think they're trying to appeal to the local crowd which that's fine it's not something I would ever order but the steak and shrimp definitely I'm going to try next.
I also got the $4 combo upgrade which includes rice hummus salad chips it it was nothing short of amazing The little veggie salad which is cucumbers tomatoes and some onion garlic oil and vinegar just amazing. So to the owners I apologize for the one star review I wish I would have held out because today the five stars I'm giving you you absolutely freaking deserve for what I tasted of the gyros as far as your other offerings I will probably try them as time goes on although as we were talking I'd like to see you guys do some traditional Mediterranean style kabobs like what we were discussing in the store especially with Kubideh... Hopefully it's something you take a crack at or at least offer you know it a limited time to see if people glom onto it or not cuz I know I'll definitely order it I can't speak for anybody else but anyways honestly best meat gyro I have ever had in the decade I've been living in the Pocono...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSO disappointed and out $60. I used to make lamb every weekend (not lamb burger) and the lamb kabobs arenāt lamb. Extremely tough chunks of Iām hoping beef. If lamb is over cooked it gets really tough so maybe it wasā¦but it didnāt taste it. Actually it didnāt have much of a taste except charcoal. š¤·š»āāļø The Taboule also a disappointment. The parsley was fresh so thatās a plus. But no olive oil just swimming in lemon juice, no mint, maybe a sprinkle of bulgur I think⦠couldnāt taste because itās in lemon juice I literally had to pour off the salad. Grabbed some mint from neighborās yard and olive oil saved it here at home. Grape leaves good and fresh. Other stuff looks good too. Might...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMaybe I went on an off day but the service was awful. The lady at the register upsells everything and honestly I get it and fell for it and said yes to almost everything but a gyro and fries for $25 is wiiiild. Iāve had cheaper gyro in NYC. Also charging extra for onions is something Iāve never heard of before. Anyway waited 25 minutes for my food to never show up. People who ordered after me got their food way faster. I had to go to the front and cancel my order because Iād have to wait an extra 5 minutes āto cook chickenā. 30 minutes to cook chicken? Sounds like they dropped the ball. No apology or anything. They did refund me in cash after I demanded it. I would avoid this place...
