Amsterdam Lounge — Local services in Washington

This place is terrible beyond belief! My friend sand I came here on a Saturday night and was in complete disbelief at how this lounge was ran. We were greeted by the rudest bouncer I have ever encountered. After about 10 minutes of him harassing us we finally made it in and ordered drinks from the downstair bar location. After waiting almost 30 minutes for our drinks, the bartender finally came from the back of the establishment and made our drinks. HOWEVER, as he was handing our drinks we saw TWO rats running across the counter. After this incident, my friends and I tried to find the owner, but shortly after we were told by the security to leave the premises because we 'overreacted' to the rat situation. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Aside from the events that happened that night, this lounge is very underwhelming and there are way better lounges on U Street you can visit. If I could give zero stars I would. The new management is terrible. Me and my friends had reservations and the manager kept threatening to take our section. The waitress took forever to come take our order, so we decided to walk up to the bar. The manager stops us and tells us to sit down and wait for our non existent server. She shows about thirty minutes later, we were there for 2 hours before seeing her. Then the manager tells me to get out out of the seat in our section so he can put it in another that only had 3 people there. Thing is, they had empty chairs around them so why bother me. Me and my boyfriend come here every other week and loves the atmosphere and music. We always order 2 Long Island ice teas and It always comes up to $33. So after 2 rounds and a tip I usually spend $70.I always say that’s pricey but never get the receipt. Once asking for the receipt yesterday to see what I’m actually being charged for the bartenders are charging $3 extra for every drink so make sure to ask for a print out of your receipt the detailed one because they will just give u the receipt that shows your price and that’s unacceptable to charge someone without informing them.
