Le Labo has some very unique and lovely fragrances. They're a luxury fragrance line stemming out of NY and each perfume you buy is hand mixed for you in store. I've been meaning to drop in and spotted it while walking by, so of course I had to make my way in. The selection inside was as expected and the store was clean and well decorated. They have candles, perfumes, body oils, and more. The scents can become pretty overpowering, so take breaks between smelling each one.
Moving on to customer service - they very obviously target which customers they give their attention to. I was so unimpressed by service. The first time we stepped in, we were totally ignored even though there was only one other person there. No greeting, no acknowledgment, no explanations, nothing. I went through on my own and found one I liked in particular so I sprayed my wrist and left to see how I liked it while walking around Georgetown.
That scent was made for me so I went back to purchase it - it was a part of their special City collection so the price point was at about $320 for 50mL, $420 for 100mL. Again, no greeting or acknowledgment. When I went to check out, the person was so snooty and disinterested. I was very tempted to just drop my purchase and leave - when I'm buying luxury, I want a luxury experience, which this place did not provide. I don't have time to go back and forth, however, so I just bit my tongue and bought it. I love my purchase though, wish it came with a good...
Read moreThe store has an old building renervated feel, walls and floor give an ambiance. Old leather chair and a few books on Japanese views on environment. The are sample bottles of perfumes, with names of plants or wood or trees written out. You can order a melange or one of their own creations. There are various bottle sizes, they have recipes they follow to mix your fragrance, print a label with your name and the mixture. It's also Inscribed in a book, should want more later. Keep the bottle when it's empty, it's cheaper to refill. The assistants are sometimes a bit off the wall, and there is a staff turn over. Some are amusing some have a chip on their shoulder. I like my fragrance, it get compliments and I enjoy the scent. It's more unique than the Macys run of the mill choices...its not Polo. It's a different experience, worth a try, sort of a touch of...
Read moreVery generic and empty feel to the store, we went in on Sunday June 4th 2023 at around 530 p.m. No greetings no smiles no nothing I still left lwith 400 dollars worth of what I wish I hadn’t because I’d rather not support the livelihoods of the two Lelabo/Estee store workers there that day. My advice is not to shop at places that don’t appreciate your business. There are so many other perfumeries that would love and appreciate people supporting them instead of these unappreciative representatives. There are literally dozens of knock offs that smell exactly like lelabo for like 50 bucks or less. so given that they don’t support us you shouldn’t support them. Put them out of business, I won’t bother buying another thing from Lelabo/Estee Lauder and...
