I love the place. It’s very cozy and nicely decorated. The food is good and the food presentation is nice. However, the service is (quite) lacking. Seems like they need to get more staff, there are only 3 waitresses, no host, and when the place is crowded, you can waste more than 40 minutes just waiting for food. The staff is very friendly but they need more. The last visit was yesterday morning for breakfast and we found out the glasses had stains so we had to request new ones, which we never got. It's a bit pricey too: you will spend $25-$30 per person getting breakfast/coffee etc. Ask for the check when placing your order or you will have to get lucky flagging someone down -- again, food good tho

If your vision of an Australian restaurant is a slab of wood on sawhorses with a bowie knife stuck in it and a Vegemite jar in front of you, this place will seem quite different. A bright, pleasant and reasonably quiet place, colored in shades of white and pale blue, with a smattering of Aussie slang on the menu, The cafe is a very nice place. At a recent breakfast the pancakes, served in a little frying pan, smothered in blueberries and real maple syrup, was excellent, and the egg, bacon and cheese croissant, with 'wedges' (AKA French fries) on the side was filling and really tasty. Definitely a place to try if you're hungry on Massachusetts Avenue.

Really lovely sun filled spot. I was working up in NW and needed a quick healthy bite. I saw the windows and umbrellas and came in. Server Mason greeted me immediately and when I asked for a nice sunny table to send a few creative emails, he cleaned off “the best seat in the house”. He put me at the cutest corner table with surrounding windows. My green goddess salad with cucumber, fennel, and pickled onion was amazing!!! I added the smoked salmon for extra protein and it was delish. I would def return and recommend this location.

I typically do not write reviews, but what happened today was so egregious i felt like I stepped back in time. I had been to the 14th and U location previously and did not have a terrible experience or a memorable one either. Food was decent so i decided to try Bluestone lane again. As I was near the 4874 Massachusetts Ave NW location, so I decided to go in for breakfast. I came in today (Monday morning) 10:30Am. Expecting there to be light traffic, and it seemed like mainly single tables of "work from home" crowd. I waited for a total of 45min to be seated. In this time span there were 2 male waiters, I was passed up and ignored twice as the same waiter asked the party that arrived after me, without even sparing me a glance, if they were ready to be seated. Not once acknowledging me, not once greeting me, not once informing me if there is a wait or how long. I find it oddly suspicious that both parties he chose to seat while ignoring me were white. There was no mistake I was there and had been there a while as we made eye contact several times, each time he averted his eyes. I ended up leaving after 45min. To be this discriminatory in 2023 is honestly laughable. Do yourself a favor and dine where you are welcomed. They seem to prefer a certain skin color in this...

Bluestone Lane is in a good location for the upscale crowd. They did a great job with the inside decoration and presentation of the meal. The outdoor seating is nice and off the main drag, but the tables are small. For me, the food for the price wasn't worth it. I left this place still feeling a little hungry. Avoid the lemon Ricotta Pancakes. That dish was undercooked and the portion was small. I am glad I ordered the two scrambled eggs as a side. The Breakfast Bowl was fine, a simple dish with a healthy amount of avocado. The eggs and Breakfast Bowl needed a little more flavor, so say yes when they ask if you need salt, pepper, and/or hot sauce. We saw a smoothie and a couple of other specialty drinks go to another table. Really cool looking in terms of presentation, but they would have to be heavily recommended by others to be worth the asking cost. The service was good, and I enjoyed the waiter calling the tea Early Grey. But be careful, they grab your card without showing you the receipt. I didn't get a printout either. I will try this restaurant again if the...

Every time I’ve come in here the manager is disrespectful and makes my experience bad. He argues with customers. I ordered a hot drink (which I specifically went for because my throat was hurting) and he made it iced and then told me that I ordered it iced and refused to remake it until I kept standing my ground. Another time he insisted I ordered two of the sandwich I online ordered, so I showed him my receipt showing I only ordered one. He argued with me and took up about 15 mins of my brunch and made me get up to go to the kitchen to speak to him multiple times. When he realized it wasn’t my fault he said my phone service provider must be bad and that in the future I should “check with him” (when there was no problem on my end ?).

I live close and was excited for the opening of bluestone lane so it’s unfortunate I’ll no longer be going here after he’s made every one of my experiences uncomfortable and stressful. The food is alright but overpriced. Other workers are nice but I’ve dealt with the manager one way or...
