Literally one of THE WORST dining experiences I have had…. And I eat out a lot. I’ll provide more detail below for those who are interested. 1) We were a group of 5. 4 of us showed up at 8p, and 1 more was going to join us at 8:30/45. The first 4 of us sought to get drinks at the bar. They encouraged us to grab our table and order with our waitress. We took their lead and sat at our table. Menus and water came, but then no one came back to take our drink orders. They were just waiting for the 5th person to show up. Understandable. We went back to the bar after 10+ minutes to order drinks, they apologized profusely, and sent the waitress over right away. 2) We then ordered drinks, including one for the person who had not yet arrived. 15 more minutes passed, and no drinks came. Turns out they couldn’t figure out the ingredients for one of the drinks, and instead of ask us OR bring the other four drinks, they just made us wait… until we complained again. 3) Finally the drinks came and they took our food order. After a decent wait (and, mind you, it was not that busy that night), they brought 3 of our 5 dishes out. Those with dishes started eating. The remaining two dishes *never came.* After 10+ minutes of waiting, we complained again, they rushed to check with the kitchen, and then apologized (for the Nth time) that the orders had not been input correctly. 4) We then ordered another round of drinks while waiting for the additional dishes to be made. 15+ minutes later, those drinks finally arrived. We were steamed that they couldn’t get anything right. 5) When the burger finally arrived (one of the originally missing items), it looked great. We had ordered it medium — intentionally not medium rare because we didn’t want it all that pink on the inside. The center of the burger was RAW BEEF. In their rush to address the missing items, they severely undercooked the meat. No other way to describe this experience than (a) HORRIBLE for us as guests, and (b) EMBARRASSING for them as a restaurant. When you are an establishment with $34 entrees on the menu, we expect better. Needless to say, we will not be going back there again.

Walked up on this place four minutes before they opened. They requested that we wait outside for a while. Perhaps to finish pre-shift. Fine. Everything was fairly tasty. The cornmeal fried oysters were a hit with my cousin and I. The wedge salad had a tart/citrus but savory taste to it. Topped with yummy thick cut bacon. Entrees were sort of bland. I enjoyed the cauliflower purée and sprouts. However, the scallops had a rough texture to them. I’m not exactly sure why they tasted rough/dry. Usually scallops have a soft, buttery taste to them. My cousin did enjoy the lemon caper sauce. I’d say the sauce was enjoyable. We also ordered the crab cakes, please order with caution. They aren’t lump crab, if you’re a local. No pic because the dish did not look appetizing. Reason I’m rating this place a two is because I go to restaurants for more than ambiance. I go for food and service. The server was nice and knowledgeable. He neglected to inform me that he charged me twice after we requested a split check. My cousin paid and tipped in cash. After calling the manager tonight when I noticed, she said she couldn’t find the check. I told her I can email everything to her. I asked for email address and she told me it was on the website. Second inconvenience. I went to website and there’s no email address. There’s nothing about this place that would make me return after the manager on duty’s communication with me. Do better.

We used to love this place before the pandemic—it was one of our go-to spots. Unfortunately, the quality really deteriorated during the pandemic, and we decided to give it a second try recently. Sadly, the conclusion remains the same: overpriced and underwhelming food. We ordered an $18 salad that was the size of a small appetizer, with no protein, minimal dressing, and absolutely no flavor. It was disappointing, to say the least. We also tried the grilled pork chop, which was another letdown. It wasn’t properly charred, and the sauce on it was overly sweet and unappetizing. The vegetables served with the pork chop were over-seasoned, making the dish even more unpleasant. On a positive note, the service was good, and the decor is still lovely. However, none of that can compensate for the poor quality of the food and the steep prices. Unfortunately, this is not a place we’ll be returning to anytime soon.

Servers were extremely kind and available, but what an unfortunate menu — poor quality and overpriced dishes. The short rib gnocchi stood out, but I find $36 for a pasta dish to be in a realm of overpriced that I simply cannot fathom. If anything, my two stars go to the service (again, extremely kind and responsive to every request) and the fries, which were good — but not $9-good for plain potato fries.

The pâté had one of the strongest aftertastes I’ve ever encountered. I understand pâté is meant to have a bold flavor, but this tasted like cheap meat with an intense iron aftertaste that clung to my palate in a deeply unpleasant way — something I’ve never experienced with pâté at a restaurant before. The bread served alongside it was rubbery and unappetizing.

The fish en papillote was overcooked and overpriced at $39.

What a shame that this restaurant claims to be worthy of a “hall of fame” title, yet seems to do little to maintain any standard or satisfy its diners’ palates. It comes across as if they’ve reached a level of recognition and simply thrown in the towel on quality, banking on word-of-mouth from past accolades while hiking prices to keep the turnover going.

I take no pleasure in leaving a bad review, but I genuinely felt it was important to share as a warning to diners who might see the acclaim behind this restaurant and expect a memorable local experience. Sadly, it felt like we were robbed by the end...
