The poor lady was there by herself and the line was long. I'm uploading the menu board so you can see how expensive it is. $$$$. The foods were average. The lady didn't tell me but Smithsonian members could get 10pct off. Bummer. Ordered tomato and cheese sandwich, took a bite, and it didn't have any tomato. Went bank and the lady lifted up the bread, nodded, and slapped sliced tomato into the sandwich. Come on, my sandwich was ordered toasted!!

Its museum food folks. It costs more than it is worth and you could have easily have brought your own snacks if you wanted. Not bad just museum food. Take that as you will. At least there is a lot of tables. More than they will ever need. Update - They even warm up some of the food if need be.

Very expensive but OK selection of food, mostly pre packaged & pre made. Given that all the museums are free it's not too surprising the food is expensive. It's a convenient location, there were plenty of tables, and it was quiet and cool inside. See photo for what you can get for $40.

We went to that cafe, purchased drinks and food. Somehow, one of the drinks disappeared: we placed four bottles on the counter and left with three. At first, we thought we messed up but we seen on the receipt we paid for four. There were no other bottles on the counter, so we told the cashier and another worker. Immediately, the cashier called us liars and raised her voice at us. We showed her the receipt and the items, but she was still adamant that she did not make a mistake (she didn't even check behind the counter or underneath just in case.) There was a lot of back and forth, until they finally walked away. A few seconds later, the other girl working there walked up with a bottle in her hand and claimed she "found" it on the counter where our stuff was (we checked before: it wasn't). The cashier had no right to be nasty about the situation, acting like we were trying to steal. I paid for a four dollar bottle of water and I...

This is the worst possible DC experience I’ve had so far. It really deserves a zero star review. The women who attend the place are extremely nasty and untrustworthy. After I ordered a few items from the cafe, my receipt did not reflect the items that I had ordered. When I went back to ask, they insisted that the items in the receipt were “the same price” as what I had ordered. This is a clearly dishonest practice. When I stuck around to see if I saw prices specified, they asked me rudely if I needed anything else. I felt bullied out the the place. Prices are ridiculously expensive, even for a tourist place and the attendants rude beyond belief. Avoid...

Avoid this place at all cost.

We accidentally pour iced coffee into our cup which we thought was iced tea. Katherine, the attendant made us pay a second $4.25 for an iced tea when the coffee was never drank.

This is an example of the poorest customer service possible.

It is clear that our family will never eat here again and will share this experience with any one we meet.

Perhaps Katherine has worked way to long in DC. She was about as customer service oriented as our...
