Normally, Ray and I go to independently owned restaurants, not franchises or corporate restaurants, but we have eaten and I have reviewed all of the close local to Roy restaurants.
After a busy Friday and Saturday of teaching lessons and two horse experiences, I was done and my kitchen was closed. We hadn’t been to Denny’s, in quite some time so we decided to go there, mostly because of proximity. Bad idea.
We were warmly greeted by the staff and immediately seated. It was dinner time, yet the restaurant was nearly empty. That should have been my first clue that this might not have been a good idea.
I had seen a sign as we came in for a mango peach mimosa. That sounded good so I ordered one. Our server was not 21 so there was a bit of a wait, which was fine. It looked appetizing but when I tasted it, the champagne was flat and the mimosa was warm. I requested a glass of ice which was delivered right away.
I ordered the Chicken bacon ranch sandwich with mayonnaise instead of ranch dressing and seasoned fries. Ray ordered the pot roast melt with wavy fries and an Oreo milkshake.
Our meals were made quickly and delivered hot to the table. While everything looked good, our entire meal was rather tasteless and bland. The seasoned fries were awful and bad enough that when we ate the rest of our meal at home, my French fry loving parrot, dropped the fry after one bite and refused a second one. Ray said his milkshake tasted like it was watered down.
Our server was attentive, polite and non-obtrusive. She knew something wasn’t right but had I told her what was wrong I don’t know what she could have done to fix it. I don’t know what I could have said or done to help besides ordering something g completely different. I was too tired to want to go that route.
I don’t blame the staff. Everyone was doing their best. Our meal was enough of a turnoff we won’t be returning. Sorry, Denny’s. We have had good meals there and at other locations as well. Prices being what they are, even with a discount it is not...
Read more12/6/24 arrived about 6ish… One hour after walking in, not once did a server say hello we will be right with you… nothing I mean nothing. This guy just kept walking back and forth and nothing. After seeing we have been sitting there, a visiting director served us coffee. Then later the same director could see we were not being helped took our order. Finally the server who was ignoring us for the past almost hour.. brought over our food. He was giving us our plates my bacon fell off and I was annoyed already with the service, I said no I’m not waiting any longer for a replacement piece. Unbelievable! He then was like well do you want the number because it’s on the receipt so you can complain, which was a rude comment. At this point he was completely out of line! Since this is how we were going to be treated then it’s time for us to leave. My husband said to him if this is how you treat customers then we’re definitely not eating here. Then he (server) looked at a lady (customer) and said see they order food and leave. My husband said no we will look online to get the corporate number and let them know what just happened and this server kept saying go ahead and was provoking with statements. we just said forget it, we all started to get up and leave. My husband said where’s the director John that was just here, let me talk with him and the server kept saying he wasn’t there and was continually making comments. This server with the face tattoo didn’t get his name was unprofessional and If he is the example of what employees you Dennys) hire, then this isn’t a place I would ever come back to. Infact I will never enter a Dennys again, and I’ve been a regular customer that used to enjoy eating at Denny’s! But never again! I have to say John the visiting director was a pleasant and nice but of course nowhere to be found during this incident. We will take our money somewhere else, where they value...
Read moreI came here with my boyfriend for breakfast and before we went in we met someone from offer-up to sell a phone. All of a sudden this lady that claimed to be the manager started yelling at me to leave and to "take it elsewhere" i told her i was here to eat and i was just meeting someone to sell a phone. She kept yelling at me to leave so i said again that we were there to have breakfast. She then said that we were parked in employee parking and to leave. Ive been to this dennys a million times and have parked all around it. I know there is no designated "employee parking" and the parking spot definitely wasnt marked "employees only" i dont know any bussiness that has "employees only" parking spots taking up potential customers spots. But also why did she say i had to leave?? So i told her a third time i wanted to come in and eat, that thats why i was here and where does she want me to park. And i pointed a few spots aways in the front parking spots and askekd if i could park over there. She said yes. But when we moved she pulled her car up behind ours and started to call the police! I dont understand what this womans problem was with us. But she should not be a manager anywhere if shes going to be scareing...
