his where I have a problem with black business everybody knows the procedure with IHOP in America. So now this particular IHOP on Alabama Avenue. Wants to do business in my community. Store i called in to place an and Order. I'm told by the young lady. In order for me to place an order. I have to pay by debit card. Before they put the order in. I eat it all Ihope time it seems like when you're in a black community. The Owners makes experience not worth the time. They Changes the rules and the language.. dealing with IHOP. The sad thing about this particular IHOP. It is owned by several Black DC police officers. How is it ok to put your business in a black community. Expect people to continue spending their money in your establishment. When you make it hard for them. I should have the same rights as every other IHOP to place an order to go.There should not be no establishment. Harassing Patriots or customers pay by debit if they want to pay by cash. This has been going on with IHOP 4 year. In the black community it's not welcome why is that. And if you can't follow the guidelines. Follow the guidelines set by all IHOP as if it was annexed stablish white community. We all know there's chances you take. This is a part of business. Do not make it hard for me and the ones that do right. To want to come into your establishment ever again. Again another black establishment. Operating in this manner that no the same as the white community. I want this post to be read by the owner and his staff. I will be giving you a fail rating score. I currently live in the suburbs and I'm always giving back to my community not under these circumstances. Born and raised South East DC be glad when my people they pulled together as one. If I could have gave them a zero rating definitely would................ I talked to the young lady that took my order. When I walked into the store to place an order. And she makes a valid point a lot of people mess it up for everyone. But this is the part of business. When you have to take the good with the bad. And I'm sorry that there are a few non mature people they can ruin it for community. ######Memo######$$$$$$ to the manager. You need to update your menu. And make it clear you do not accept phone call orders. Unless you're paying by credit card up front....

I've gone before and we have had great customer service. However, this past Saturday, the waitress we had was awful. Let's start with me asking for an extra breakfast taco, and before I could get the words out, she blurted, "we don't do that!" Either they really don't (which I've always been able to add extra to any meal), or she just didn't want to ask someone more experienced. Secondly, my daughter ordered her usual biscuit and gravy breakfast, which comes with 2 meats, and instead of hearing what was being asked, she simply assumed my daughter wanted all sausage. Instead of getting upset, my daughter just went along with it.
Then, when the food came out, the breakfast tacos had no breakfast (eggs). Yup, the eggs were missing from the breakfast taco, and when asked, she said the spicy beef did not come with eggs. I said "well thats what it looks like on the menu." She goes to get the menu in an attempt to prove me wrong only to see that it does and asked if I wanted it remade. No, because at this point, your customer service is bad, and I don't trust you bringing me anything. Not to mention, my daughter's biscuit and gravy had no gravy 😩
Now, there was another young lady who introduced herself as the waitress help with blond hair and pretty dark skin who was very, very helpful! I think she could sense my frustration and did all she could to turn the experience around. She is the only reason I gave this post 4 stars. As a manager, seeing her go above and beyond not just for my family but other families made a world of difference. I hope her hard work doesn't go unseen. Good people like her are really hard to come by.

It was about another 10 min before she came back to get our drink order which at that point we already had our whole order ready. My daughter ordered the mint hot chocolate which pictured green whipped cream and red sprinkles but we recieved white whipped and no sprinkles, when asked about it she stated they were out which common courtesy should have been to let us know before we ordered it because it just ended up being a regular hot chocolate. We asked ahead of time how long would it take because it already took to long so far, she said shouldn’t be more than 15 min because it has died down and isn’t busy right now, we’ll it took twice as long to get our food, which resulted in us missing our movie. Asked for drink refill, waiter said hold on but never brought it. As we waited we watched people wait to be seated but after waiting so long they just took menus and sat themselves. It was too cold in there and none of the employees knew what the WiFi password was or how to get connected to it....
