Skip the drinks and the chips and salsa; get the chorizo burger. Seabrook is overall out-of-place for the Washington Coast, which is accustomed to the rugged, untouched coastline with plenty of camping and resorts with cabins, but this place fits in for Seabrook. What that means is that it is way more expensive than other restaurants in nearby towns, but it's on par for what you should expect in Seabrook in terms of Seattle/Cannon Beach/California prices. So go with that in mind. Now that you're over the sticker shock, I'll go on with my review of the rest of it. The hostess was not hospitable, but our server was. However, our server was too busy most of the time. The food was fantastic, and we will go back if we're in the area because it was some of the best we've ever had--with three exceptions: The strawberry margarita looked pretty, but the taste did not match the price ($16), and it was a weak pour. The chips and salsa tasted ok, but not worth the price ($4). (Third is the fries, see below.) My husband was debating between the burrito and the burger, and our server suggested the burger. It was honestly the best chorizo burger either of us has ever had. The fries that came with it were soggy and terrible. Didn't matter. We hardly noticed due to how amazing the burger was, and it was filling enough that we were not hungry even though we didn't eat the fries. I got the veggie tacos, and they were also amazing. The beans and rice were also good. We sat outside because the weather was nice, so I can't speak to the atmosphere inside, but the outside patio was lovely, especially because we were sitting in the back corner. The seating was a little uncomfortable because there wasn't really a back so it was like sitting on a bench, which wasn't great for my back, but not too bad. If you're staying in Seabrook or driving through, I would definitely recommend you give this place a try.

This place was one of the worst dining experiences I have had in a while. The ambiance of the restaurant is cute and one of the servers that sat was very nice, but other than that they have MAJOR room for improvement. To begin, our server poured water into our glasses on the table, missed the glass, and spilled water all over a portion of table. Totally not a big deal, but she acknowledged the spill and then never came back with an extra napkin or any rag to clean it up, which was an odd start. She then tried to take our order as soon as we sat down and when we said we needed a moment, she did not come back for a good 10/15 min even though it’s a small restaurant and we were visibly ready. One of my friends ordered salsa and mid way through eating it, she refilled our waters and poured water directly into the salsa, said “oops” and then walked away without offering to get us a new salsa. She also just had a passive aggressive attitude with a few of my friends which is what is it, everyone has a bad day, but it just felt random and made the dining experience uncomfortable. The house margaritas were $15 for a normal sized margarita and were fine at best. We all got tacos and some of the tacos didn’t even come with a side so you were getting 3 small, low quality tacos for $20+ which is ridiculous in our opinion. My friend got their carnitas tacos and it genuinely looked and tasted like cat food and did not even come with a sauce or lime to eat it with. It was almost laughably bad at this point, but the high cost made this experience seem warranted of a bad review. Do not recommend wasting your money on this establishment. It was a small beach town, but I’d have to imagine there are other choices that are better and more cost effective.

Set in the idealistically beautiful town of Seabrook WA not far from the beach is Koko's. Just across the street from a fun family arcade and not far from all the little shops that line the quaint streets of Seabrook. This lovely restaurant is impeccably clean and inviting. Amazing views and amazing food. Everything we ordered was delicious and felt as though it had been made from scratch on the spot just for us. Their Chorizo empanadas are a great starter and really set the tone for just how great your meal is going to be. The service here is also stellar! Our waitress was an adorable young lady with a ton of charm. She not only served us but was genuinely interested in our vacation and the places we had visited like the Alpine coaster in Leavenworth that I hope she gets to check out soon. She was extremely pleasant made us feel right at home. Even the chips and salsa here are a cut above the usual. After the empanadas and chips and salsa came beautiful plates and smiles. My carnitas tacos were as good as I've ever had and the beans and rice were good enough that I would order just beans and rice as a meal. Other plates enjoyed by my family included the Burrito Gordo which my son ate almost all of even though it was the size of his head. Then there were the Pablano Cashew enchiladas which I sat and coveted a bit while we ate, a beautiful bright green sauce made them a visual feast along with tasting great. One of the best stops on our vacation we will be back.

The food and atmosphere are amazing. I always made a point to recommend KoKo's to people. I have no qualms with the quality of the food and cocktails. We will certainly miss it. 😔 And the first couple of times we went there, our service was great.

Other than great food, another positive point is they have well-spaced seating and dividers between the booths, so you can feel safe about eating there. Our server wore a mask the entire time.

However, the last three times we've gone, we really didn't feel like a priority. On our last visit, the person who waited on us was curt and transactional, and a bit condescending. We tried to be engaging and friendly, but he didn't reciprocate. We asked him multiple times for things he didn't get for us. We still tipped of course, just not as generously as we normally do. We can just write it off as a parting gift.

And look, I understand the service industry is stressful, especially in the era of covid. Some days, you just don't want to be at work. And I'm speaking as somebody in the service industry. But I always make a point to try and make people feel welcome, to engage them, and otherwise make them want to come back. When I'm on the customer side of the equation, I try to be friendly and understanding with my fellow service people. (Solidarity in the face of screeching Karens and entitled "we're always right" customers, amirite?) But if we're that much of a bother, KoKo's, then we'll leave you be. Sorry it didn't work out. We really did love you guys! 😢

EDIT: I tried to not give an overtly negative review. However, since I posted this review, we discovered that they overcharged us substantially. Which is essentially theft. My recommendation to anyone reading this if you choose to patronize this restaurant, insist they give you an itemized receipt. Looking at other reviews on this site, we're clearly not the only ones who've had the same experiences.

As a result of this, I came back to adjust my review to ⭐⭐. I won't rate them lower because the food was excellent, and we've had some good experiences at this restaurant. But we don't particularly appreciate being treated rudely, and then stolen from. I'm sorry for my tone, but I'm clearly...

The greeting was great and the restaurant was busy which gave me some false hope about this place. To start the server took our drink orders, which took a while to come out to the table. Before we even got our drinks, within 3 minutes of sitting down he asked if we were ready to order. We ordered despite not having very much time to look at the menu, and while waiting for our drinks. The food took a very long time to come out (other than the chips, salsa, and guacamole). This would have been acceptable if it weren't the fact that the food was quite bland, and the portions for the main dishes were barely enough to feed a small child (aside from the Enchiladas). On top of that, one of my friends I was with ordered a quesadilla and specifically asked for it to have bell peppers, etc. The quesadilla came with only cheese and it was pouring out of each slice. She kindly pushed the plate to the side after only eating one of 4 pieces, and they offered to remake it for her, which we also declined. He didn't even offer to take the item off of the bill or any sort of compensation other than remaking the food. The food I ordered was veggie tacos, and they were lacking any sort of seasoning other than cilantro (extremely bland). The portions, as stated, were tiny for these tacos. Throughout the meal of everyone else eating, we did not get checked in on for a long time, and everyone was out of water for a long time, as we watched him refill other tables' water. The waitor also did not ask anyone if they wanted refills on the drinks they ordered unless explicity asked for. All in all it was quite a disappointment for seabrook, and on top of that the bill was quite large for 5 people, especially with the portion sizes and level of investment in the taste of the food. I would not recommend this place...
