Two years later and my son still refuses to eat his favorite food, Mac n Cheese, with a metal spoon because of this experience at this place!! He won’t eat anything hot with metal!! I hope they took my review seriously and made changes. I will never say anything good about this place as they scarred my young child and didn’t even respond to my review. I’m disgusted and disappointed.
The burger was good because it was fresh and hot, even though it was late. My aunt that had pizza was finished with it by the time my mom got her hamburger. Why was the burger so late? Why was the Mac n Cheese so late? Why was my salad nonexistent? My 5 year old son and myself (the salad) were still waiting for our food. It took them an additional twenty minutes to get us the Mac n Cheese and my salad was nowhere in sight. We saw people who came after us eat and leave. The salad was sitting for over 30 mins under the warmer, waiting to be sent out and I hoped and prayed it wasn’t mine. It had been sitting there & I saw the server walk right past it multiple times. Our server finally got it and confused, took it all around the restaurant before finally delivering it our table. I rejected the salad. They took it off the bill but not the Mac n Cheese and they blew off the Mac n Cheese problem, which is a problem. They literally forgot about my son’s order and I guess just put it back in the microwave in a ceramic bowl and stuck a metal spoon in it. The bowl was way too hot to touch even 20 mins after we received the bowl. About 10 mins after I turned away the salad, we tried to feed him again. He had burned his mouth so much that he wouldn’t eat from the bowl. We actually had to go somewhere else for food because myself and my son did not get to eat. Also, while waiting for our food during the whole hour or so we were waiting as our order was seemingly forgotten about, our server brought chili, a cheeseburger, a sandwich and a wrap to me, thinking it was mine. Each time, I told her no- I ordered a salad. Wouldn’t she know?? They were not THAT busy.. she said she wasn’t new.. three tables that arrived after us were seated, ordered food and left before we even got any food. Let’s talk about the Mac n Cheese.. the Mac n Cheese was piping hot and the spoon was so hot, it burnt my son’s mouth. He cried. We had to put ice on the spoon, which turned into a puddle immediately. We had the older woman who was our host, who seated us, come by and hold the bowl and she condescendingly mocked us saying, “well sometimes, our food is hot and we need to wait just a little bit to eat it.” I saw her roll her eyes to my mom when she asked her to hold it after she said this and I said, “30 mins though?!” And my aunt piped in and said, “this bowl has been microwaved. There is zero way to get this Mac n Cheese this consistency (all stuck together and dried out) unless it has been over cooked and no way to get the ceramic bowl that hot unless it has been microwaved.” They didn’t give us that Mac n Cheese ticked off the total but whatever, I just wanted to leave at that point. I wouldn’t eat here again if my life depended on it. Good burger but TERRIBLE service & awful other food. Smile in your face, stab you in the back and STILL mess up your order because they just don’t care. Servers are on their phones 24/7 and just do not care about your order. How dare you serve something so hot (temperature-wise) to a fricking 5 year old?? Burnt his mouth so badly, he’s scarred. I had to leave because I was so mad and disappointed as it was my decision to try this place. I was so excited to try this place due to their modern take on a historical landmark and then I was extremely let down with my experience.. I have also heard if you don’t order alcohol, they literally don’t care about you. We ordered 4 nonalcoholic drinks and food, probably tip better than half the people in there yet we were given the worst service. The table that was cleaned off for us was a nice tabletop with a river view, I had hopes. The service and the way the food came out was 110%...
Read moreVisited town on a Sunday to wish a WWII Veteran a happy 104th birthday at the local VFW. I decided to bring the family (2 adults, 3 boys 9 -12 years of age) & have a nice lunch at this establishment before visiting the event at the VFW (scheduled for a 2 hr window).
We arrived at the restaurant at 1 pm. We hoped to get a seat outside on the patio but the hostess said there would be a considerable wait after I had to ask her to check. Not a big deal, so we opted to then sit inside & mentioned being on a limited time schedule.
After being seated, we were greeted relatively quickly by our waitress. We ordered our sodas & water. The waitress wasn't sure if they had milk or not & came back quickly to let us know that they did & she could make a chocolate milk for one of the kids.
We ordered an appetizer after a few minutes but weren't ready to make our full order at the same time so we waited a few extra minutes to place our main food order. Our waitress came back a few minutes later & took our main order.
The appetizer (boneless chicken wings) was brought out after an appropriate amount of time. Then we waited & waited & waited. The waitress came by a couple of times and told us thanks for being patient & our order should be coming soon.
After we waited for 45 mins, I attempted to find a manager. In this process, there was a table of three others that had sat down about 15 minutes prior. I approached them & told them I wasn't aware how much time they planned to spend there but shared that we had been waiting for 45 mins for our main food order.
I was finally able to get the attention of another waitress while I stood near the bar. I asked if there was a manager I could speak to. She looked at me like she didn't understand my question or almost as if she didn't know if they even had a manager on staff. She eventually told me she would get someone to speak to me. I told her & showed her where I was sitting & would appreciate having the opportunity to speak to a manager.
Shortly after I sat back down, a male employee came back to the room we were in. I flagged him down. He told me he wasn't a manager but wanted to inquire about what we needed (i later discovered he was just the bartender). I explained to him that we had placed our food order about 45 mins prior & was just looking to see how much longer we were going to have to wait. He then proceeded to tell me, in a very mater of fact kind of way, that the 45 minute wait is a standard wait time at this restaurant because they have a small kitchen & they are the busiest restaurant in the area for 50 miles!!! He never apologized for a wait but did mention the restaurant should have limited their patrons. I told him I was just inquiring how much longer we were going to need to wait. He said he would go check.
When he left, the other table that I spoke to & gave a warning to had overheard the employee's interaction with me. They stood up from their table, thanked me for giving them a heads up, stated they weren't waiting any longer for service, walked out & stated they were headed to Applebee's instead.
Our food came to our table directly after this. The servers told us they apologized for the wait & shared that our ticket had taken 50 minutes to complete.
Unfortunately, to add to the experience, my burger was cooked well done even though I requested medium rare. A bit disappointed but since I already had to wait 50 minutes to get that I wasn't going to try & wait even longer to make the order correct.
Thankfully, we were offered a 20% discount when the bill was delivered. I'm not sure that really made up for the experience but it was something at least. We barely made it to the event we planned to attend before it ended.
I drove 30 miles to get to Washington & go to the event in town, so I know the bartender's statement about being the busiest restaurant around for 50 miles was BS. His interaction with me cost the restaurant business that day, & I have to admit that it very likely may result in the loss of my future...
Read moreIt's pub food. It's not very good at all. It's loud as expected with live bands. The food is too overpriced for the poor quality they serve. Don't order fries they come cold. Don't order the wings, you'll be disappointed. I ordered wings as an appetizer they never arrived and after finally getting our main food, halfway through eating was told oh yeah the wrings, we're actually out of them sorry. YEAH servers should know this before allowing a customer to even order it if you simply don't have IT that's fine just say so beforehand. I get it waitresses are overworked and probably underpaid. But service goes a long way. It's bad enough our server while walking by yes carrying someone else's old dishes and drink cups allowed a cup to fall and spill all over my foot and leg. Whatever remnant of some fruity mixed drink whomever had partially consumed moments earlier. Please better train your staff and keep.good communication so everyone knows what's going on. I'll not be visiting again, I don't recommend it. Simply put if you want a drink go for it love it up. But for anything outside of loud music, crazy people, and overcharged alcohol, this place is overpriced and the quality and service are awful. Food is not good and the atmosphere is horrendous....
