Walk in the door and we were greeted with a smile and a hello! sat ourselves, and we really weren't sitting maybe 3 minutes when our waitress, Meg, came with the menus and to get our drink orders. Super friendly! smiled and laughed with us. Came back a few minutes with our drinks and took our orders. Half order of biscuits and gravy with hash browns for my friend, and a #6 for me, which consisted of two eggs, bacon or sausage (got the sausage) and two pancakes with real whipped butter. Now we weren't the only people there, but it didn't even take 15 minutes to get our food. My friend was thankful she got only half of an order of biscuits because the serving size was quite big, and she said they were great! Mine? Well, the pancakes were cooked so damn perfectly they looked like some AI gen sitting on my plate. And they were actually the size of the plate! Sausage was sausage, meaning it was good, and the eggs? Y'know how people sometime have a problem getting the "over easy" done right? Well, I know I do. either over cook, or under cook it just enough to have that icky uncooked white. I don't know why I didn't take pictures! The dang things were impossibly perfectly cooked. Yes, I am this excited over two dang eggs lol I ended up taking half the pancakes home, and that doesn't bother me at all. Meg was a sweet and wonderful waitress. You could tell there were some regulars there for some good food as she and the other waitstaff chatted with everyone that was there. if I could give the place 10 stars, I would. also, this was our first time there. Had a Dr appt that was actually on time and went quickly. I based my choice due to the picture of the building on google maps lol Next time I want to try one of...
Read moreThis was my 2nd visit to this establishment in the beautiful town of Washington Missouri. Upon entering, just shortly after lunch rush I think, the store was approximately 1/3rd full. Not bad for a Friday afternoon. It was as clean as expected for a mid day visit. Staff was friendly and attentive. We ordered the fried chicken, which was juicy, freshly made, batter dipped and absolutely delicious. Best fried chicken I've had from any restaurant. I've been to restaurants famous for friend chicken. Rothschild's fried chicken was better. It was fantastic cold the next day as well. We accompanied our meal with a tasty baked potato..the only thing I'd have liked better would be real butter for the potatoes as opposed to margarine. Real butter really shows how much a restaurant wants to showcase their food. Also available was the salad bar, which also was fresh and seemed clean. The only think I'd like to have seen would be a stack of paper towels next to the salad bar to grab the salad bar serving utensils. The salad bar was stocked with lots of good stuff!! Dressing was delicious as well. As was with my first experience, my 2nd experience here was great as well. Food was delicious and staff, as I mentioned previously was attentive and kind. I'd definitely recommend this small town family restaurant. Also I should mention that I'm disabled and had no problems moving around. I only brought my cane, but no safety issues and it's handicap accessible. (Bathroom might be a tight squeeze if you're in a wheelchair) The river isn't too far from the restaurant..there's a lovely riverside park that is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the water. Great...
Read moreWent here around 10:20am on Saturday, July 5, 2025. There is a small counter to the left when you walk in. That counter is used for both checking in, and for paying your tab. It can get pretty crowded, so if you don't want someone cutting in front of you, just stand to the left in front of the check in board instead of behind someone who may be paying their tab. There is an elongated bench big enough to fit around 10 people in front. The restaurant has probably 15-20 booths total and about 7 dining tables. It is a very crowded feel and the tables aren't very big if you are not in a booth. We waited around 20-25 minutes and got to find our booth without a host or hostess. Therefore, we did not get the menu until the waitress came to take our drink orders. The orange juice is good, and does not have pulp in it. The waitress was very nice. However, the wait time for the food was very, very long. I don't know if this is normal, or if it was because of the holiday weekend, but we probably sat there 30-40 minutes before we got our food. Unfortunately, we had a rambunctious toddler that refused to sit still and requested that our food be take out. The pictures of the food were taken 35 minutes later when we finally arrived home. The biscuit was dry, and the hash browns were not cooked through. The bacon is not crispy. There was no real flavor in the bacon, either. The rest of the meal was average. I don't know if I'd be back, but I can confirm the restaurant had a warm,...
