⭐️⭐️ | Great Service, Beautiful Atmosphere—But Disappointing Food & Value
Last night was our first visit to The President’s Pub , and while we had high hopes, the experience didn’t live up to expectations—aside from the amazing service we received from our waitress, Casey. She was attentive, kind, and really made us feel welcomed. Honestly, she was the best part of the evening.
We started with the stuffed crab mushrooms appetizer, which was absolutely delicious—flavorful and cooked perfectly. Things seemed promising at that point.
For our main courses, we ordered the Scottish salmon and a the delmonico steak. The salmon started off okay for the first few bites, but as I got to the center, it was raw—definitely not the medium cook I asked for. The rice and vegetables on the side, however, were solid. The steak was requested medium rare, but it came out fully cooked with no pink at all. The mashed potatoes were overwhelmed with thyme, which unfortunately overpowered the dish.
We appreciated that the kitchen timed the courses well, and we weren’t overwhelmed with everything at once.
As for drinks, we ordered an Aloha Breeze and a plain margarita. Both were a letdown—neither drink tasted balanced or enjoyable.
We dined outside, which was visually stunning. The waterfall, sunflowers, and tomato plants made for a beautiful setting. That said, it was bug city out there. Some citronella candles or bug control would go a long way. The outdoor seating could also use an upgrade—more comfortable chairs would make a big difference.
The final disappointment was the bill. With two drinks, one appetizer, and two entrees, we were shocked that the total came to $103.00. If the food and drinks had been exceptional, it would’ve been easier to justify. But for the quality we received, it felt overpriced.
The name “President’s Pub” gave us high expectations, but while Casey made us feel like VIPs, the food and drinks did not. We may or may not return again, but we’re grateful for the service and...
Read moreTonight was our first experience at the Presidents Pub. My husband and I decided to try it out for dinner as we were looking to try a new place. We arrived between 730 and 8 and had no problem being seated right away. I did find it odd that the host stand is all the way in the back of the restaurant but didn't know enough about the area to realize that there is more parking and an entrance back there. Our server came right away to take our drink order and even came back in an appropriate amount of time while we were still deciding. We placed our dinner orders fairly quickly as well. I overheard another server tell the table next to ours if they were planning on ordering dinner to do so fairly quickly as the kitchen was on an approximate 45 minute wait time. I also overheard her say something about glasses being washed. We waited a fairly good amount of time for our cocktails, so much so that we were offered shots of crown royal apple on the house. I have to admit I was a little perturbed that the table next to us who ordered after us got their drinks and food first and they were a party of 4. We did get our appetizer, the poutine in a fairly reasonable amount of time which was the perfect amount of salty and meaty. When we finally did get our meal, salmon for me and the pub burger for my husband, our server apologized for the wait and notified us that her boss wanted to offer us a round of free drinks on the house or comp the ones we already had. I had first ordered an honest abe and my husband had an old fashioned. I let him taste my drink and he really liked it so we both ordered another honest abe on the house. It was very crisp, tart and refreshing. The manager as well as the chef briefly stopped by our table to apologize for our wait which we greatly appreciated. The food and drinks were excellent and the restaurant itself was very charming. We would not hesitate...
Read moreLet me start off by saying I’ve NEVER written a bad review for anyone in my life, just good ones. But my boyfriend and I stopped in President’s Pub yesterday around 5:10pm and were really excited to try this place out for the first time before the Whiskey Rebellion fest. We were seated at a high top inside and there were only a couple people at the bar, another high top table and a table or 2 outside and what looked to be about 6 servers.. Not busy right? Well we sat there for 15 minutes and not ONE single waitress came over to greet us but they went up to everyone else in the place. We’ve never felt so unwelcomed in an establishment in our lives. Some of the girls would look over at us but not a single one thought to come get our drink order being we were without anything for that long. I worked in the service industry for years and never would think to just let a table sit there without being greeted for that long ESPECIALLY because it wasn’t busy at all! I’ve never ever dealt with anything like that at a restaurant. It was a terrible first experience there. We ended up walking out and went to Union Grill which was wonderful!! Even as we were walking out, not one person said anything as we walked by multiple waitresses and bartenders. Hopefully other people have a more pleasant experience here and are treated much more kindly...
