Moved to Washington like 2 years ago now and one of the first things me and my girlfriend did was find the local library. Fun fact, they’ll let you borrow the baskets if you happen to check out too many books to carry. It is still a rental slot so one less book or movie to take so maybe bring a bag or make peace with that. They’ve got movies, games, magazines, audio books, really just all kinds of things you can rent. There’s a seed library for gardening or for donating extra seeds you’re not growing. There’s a little bookstore that’s open sometimes (at least at 10 am on Saturdays) run by volunteers. $2 hardcovers is the highest price I’ve run into and no they don’t have everything but I’ve never left without something. The staff are wonderful and always seem to really be happy with where they are, who they are, and who they’re around. It’s really nice to go to the library. It’s nicer to go to a library that wants you there. Things kinda suck for us queer people currently and sometimes it’s hard to know what places are and aren’t friendly. It’s really nice that Citizen’s library is taking an open stance. I’m with them all the way and I’ll never leave without something coming with me.

Quick shout out to Chris! Really glad he’s going to a library to read if not ours. You’ll reach that 3rd grade level reading comprehension soon buddy. The goal of not being an idiot is a valiant one even if in some cases (this one) it can take a lot of work. Keep at it!...

Stopped coming over a year ago when the toddler section preview table, right as u walk in on first floor, was FILLED with rainbow flags, trans books (the blue crayon that wanted to be red) and my two dads books. I complained but to no avail. Then on another occasion the guy behind the counter came out wearing a silk blouse with a stuffed top (if you catch my drift), a skirt, and a five o’clock shadow.after I made light of it to my young kids, we laughed until it hurt at how silly that guy looked. But to be honest This is WAY too over the top for me. I watched two other families walk out as they mumbled under their breath “this is crazy let’s go” ….we went back once more but when it was the same garbage we left and haven’t been back. Funny that the library asks for donations yet they shove this absolute garbage down our kids throats. Nope. We decided to go to peters library because they don’t tolerate this indoctrination. I’ll never find this garbage. Thank God for peters township library for...

Paid parking in the library lot was disappointing when I can go to use wifi at a coffee shop and park for free. Not very many convenient corners for sitting and working online. I understand that libraries want to ensure no one is using their internet for inappropriate things, but hard chairs that face the wall with librarians walking behind you every few minutes and peaking over your shoulder is a bit much. A fellow visitor was very loud and frustrated with whatever he was doing online (loud enough to still be interruptive through headphones with audio) and was not even asked to keep the noise down despite the constant surveillance. Bathrooms are clean and...
