Ukawa Teriyaki — Restaurant in Washington

This place just kicked me out because I tried to eat a togo order at a table. I work so I try to be efficient with my lunch hour. I order ahead so I can sit and relax...

No warning, no nothing, just told me to leave. Been coming here off and on for years but I will not be coming back after that.

1/9/2018: This is in response to the comment from the owner in which I did not see before.

Just so you understand how the physical world works, I can't see a sign underneath the menu when I order over the phone. I'm already committed to what I was doing on my work lunch hour when I called in.

To Prevent the waste of plastic? Give me a break. If I ate it at home, does that prevent the waste of your precious plastic?? You are just being outright cheap. I know of at least 10 people that have avoided your restaurant because I told them to. Lets says you do $2 profit for every meal. That is $20 missed. $20 of "plastic" is more than enough to buy a lifetime of my visits to your restaurant had I kept going. Your attitude towards customers is garbage and your response is garbage (which was a second opportunity to make it right). You are surviving off of convenience, once something better (aka more convenient) comes along you won't be able to treat folks that way. I hope all of Silver Firs realizes this and makes the trip up to Manna Teriyaki by Fred Myer instead of taking the convenient route....

I liked this place. The chicken Breast Teriyaki was good. I've had better but this was solid. What I really liked was the Chicken Katsu. They make it was chicken breast rather than thigh and that's a solid win. The portions were good and the flavors were better than average. I had to drive through a perpetual construction zone to get to them which can't be good for them and the flaggers on that project are just the worst. I might eat here the day that project wraps up just to celebrate. I may or may not have yelled at one of the flaggers for doing a half-assed job that almost caused an accident while I was driving home. But I digress....

The service was fast and friendly and the building was clean. I'm kind of craving more of that Katsu right now since I'm thinking about it and looking at the pictures I'm about to post. Too bad I've already got...

This is a great place. the cook and the cashier are so sweet. The food is great teriyaki. I absolutely love the gyoza. There prices are much better than comparable teriyaki places in the area. The amount of food you get is great... Buy one meal and you have left overs for the next day! I read the negative reviews and I don't really agree with their bad customer service. I mean, they are ethnic and I don't think their English is that great... Maybe my expectations are more realistic. I'm not there for a date and conversation. They always seem nice...
