We went to try this place out, as others have given a good review. We just ordered sushi, so I can't speak to other foods. We all got Miso soup, it was fine. At the table was myself, my husband and my 5 y.o. We only ordered sushi (& soup.) The young man brought over 2 napkins, 2 chopsticks and 2 dishes for soy sauce. There were 3 people at the table and nothing but sushi ordered. My husband got up and got 5 y.o. chopsticks and asked for another dish. (Did she use the chopsticks??? Not really but she shouldn't have been left out.) We ordered tamago (egg) & cucumber rolls for 5 y.o. The nori on the cucumber rolls was really tough and she choked on it a bit because she couldn't chew it up. (Husband and I both tried it, it was tough) The cucumber rolls were also not completely connected by nori and fell apart. We ordered a few rolls. The Philadelphia Roll & Tempura Roll were huge!! They were so big you couldn't eat in one bite. (I guess we got more for our money?!?) But the rice wasn't very sticky. The Philadelphia roll had waaay too much smoked salmon. (Again, I guess bigger bang for our buck?!?) I took about half of it out and it was much better. The rainbow roll was fine but still a bit of the rice fell out. So go there and try the Poke or Teriyaki, but I'd avoid the sushi there. Yes, we went for a very early dinner and were the only ones in there eating sushi. TL;DR Sushi lowdown: Nori was tough. Rice was not sticky enough. Taste was pretty good but the messiest sushi I've ever had. :-/ Picture was taken...

As a patreon of Umai and a local from Hawaii I will rate this place a five star. This is my rating system. Safety: clean and sanitized eating area. Food is cooked correctly and all food is properly handled. Atmosphere and decor: Relaxed with low level music. Seating for large and small parties. Sushi bar with friendly staff. Customer service: You are greeted when you walk in and are thanked for your visit. They remember your name after a few visits and they are always attentive to your needs. Your beverages are never left empty. They are professional and communicate frequently. You are not ignored! Quality: Consistent with correct portions. Never over cooked and the meat is always juicy and tender. The seafood is fresh and the sushi and sashimi is in healthy portions. Get ready for new dishes like the poke bowls. Variety is great and the signature dishes are fulfilling. Pricing: considering all of the above, the cost for the eating at Umai Sushi is what you should pay. They dont over price the food items and are competitive to their competition. Conclusion: Umai is family owned and operated by The whole family. Lex and his wife are the main two with the son and daughter that are part of the team. This is a great family and you will notice how well they work together. Lex is a great person with an amazing family. I believe that your experience will be rewarding if you eat here at Umai Sushi & Bento. Thank you for reading this...

Umai Bento is a shining star in the world of Japanese cuisine, and my recent dining experience there left me utterly impressed. From start to finish, everything about Umai Bento exuded freshness and quality.

First and foremost, the ingredients used in their dishes were impeccably fresh. From the vibrant vegetables to the succulent seafood, each component of my meal tasted like it had been sourced straight from the market that day. It's clear that Umai Bento takes great care in selecting the finest ingredients, and it truly elevates the dining experience.

Moreover, the attention to detail in the preparation of each dish was impeccable. Whether it was the expertly sliced sashimi or the perfectly seasoned rice, every element of my bento box was crafted with precision and care. Each bite was a testament to the skill and dedication of the chefs at Umai Bento.

Additionally, the presentation of the food was as beautiful as it was delicious. Each dish was artfully arranged, making for a visually stunning dining experience that only added to the enjoyment of the meal.

In summary, Umai Bento is a must-visit for anyone craving fresh, flavorful Japanese cuisine. With their commitment to quality ingredients, impeccable preparation, and stunning presentation, they've truly set the bar high. I can't wait to return for another taste of their...
