Washington Diner — Restaurant in Washington

I was with a friend for lunch and she wanted to go to another place. I said I like to go to Washington dinner. Service is fine as we were sitting down. I wasn't happy cause I didn't want to have lunch with extra flies they were a very annoying. When my lunch was at the table and I was about to enjoy my meal. A fly landed on my food I cancel the food Immediately The manager came to the table.Explain it to me that he has.People come into the restaurant to take care of the fly. I told him it not good enough to take this off my bill. I thought I was finished in my conversation with my friend that I haven't seen for x amount of months. When I get to the cashier ask the manager to whereas my waitress He replied by saying she went home cause she was done for the day. Will I didn't like that cause I didn't get the full service when they have a Waitress go home in between serving their customers. Then he made a comment by saying to me that she's only good when she's sleeping. I didn't understand and I didn't like what he said about the Waitress well, I gave him an attitude I told him my peace my mind I don't like the way your flies are enjoying the food that I am paying for. I will never go back there again with the attitude that the manager had and apologize to me as I was walking out of the restaurant. I will be calling the Health Department As Soon As Possible. Well let me tell you all something that happened tonight JULY 20, 2017 at the Washington Diner Route 31, Washington,NJ We went to eat there after an auction to grab a bite to eat, we sat next to Oxford,NJ paramedics who stopped in to grab something to eat. While we were getting our food served to us a waitress comes running over to the table next to us and she's yelling "are guys paramedics there's a guy who passed out on the floor in the back room"( they didn't even get their dinner at this point)they jump up and go assist the customer, they are all gone from their table working on this guy, in the mean time their dinner comes out, so of course all their food is getting cold because their gone so long assisting this guy. They finally get this guy stable and come back in and say they have to go they can't eat their food they got another call to go on, WELL WOULDN'T YOU KNOW the manager on duty MAKES THEM STAY AND PAY THEIR BILL!!!!!! MIND YOU THEY JUST HELP A CUSTOMER OF THE DINER AND THEY JUST SAID THEY HAVE ANOTHER CALL,THEY DIDN'T EAT THEIR FOOD AND HE MAKES THEM STAY TO PAY THEIR BILL and OH I GUESS HE FEELS BAD BUT GIVES THEM 50% OFF THEIR BILL!!!!!!! AND THEIR VOLUNTEERS!!!! I HOPE ONE DAY HE NEEDS THE PARAMEDICS IN A HURRY! I was just passing through the area with my friends who live in the town, I was craving some breakfast after a long night of celebration and snacks. I'm from up north where the diner experience.... Isn't as common. It does exist but...it's different. Semantics. This place does it all. It's a chromed out building with red, big ol retro font diner. Goin side and the smell of the griddle hits you in the face. I could already tell. This was going to be a meal worth demolishing. I'm a simple guy, I like my eggs I like my breakfast meats, and I like my starchy potato and bread. Simple order, probably done 1000 times over by the cooks at the establishment, out in minutes. The speed and efficiency of this restaurant is staggering to me. The food was hot and ready in what seemed like no time. My Taylor ham, and my home fries, glorious. Normally I'm at the table for like 20 minutes where I'm about. Our waitress was on the ball though, checked our coffee, asked us about the food, was super nice. My only regret was not getting more food, I could've used it.

All and all, for the first diner in NJ I've ever been too, I personally couldn't recommend it enough. I am sad I will be waking up tomorrow without the taylor ham egg and cheese on a roll with a side of fries this morning. Award this place a 5 star, compliments to your staff, I had a blast.
