About a month ago a co-worker and I were suggested Locals, and since we had both never been there, we headed on over to try the place out. We were the first customers of the day, which may have led to the eventual trouble.
We both decided to get pizza. Two of them. We ordered, no problem there. After awhile, maybe 45 minutes, we realized we had been sitting there for quite some time. It wasn't long after that that our server came over with a complimentary plate of breadsticks and apologized for the wait, saying there was a problem with the oven but our pizza would be out in 5 minutes. That was fine by us, we weren't in a hurry, and the breadsticks were amazing.
Another wait, 15-20 minutes, and a different lady came to talk to us (manager, perhaps?). This time we were told that our initial pizza order had to be thrown out due to the oven malfunction, and that if we liked, we could still order pizza but they'd have to start over from scratch and make 2 more. At this point we had been there over an hour, but we were still hungry and in the mood for pizza, so we said we'd just wait.
Long story short: eventually two pizzas did arrive. With a very apologetic server. With the pizza came 2 coupons for free pizzas on our next visit, and the entire bill was comped for our trouble. We weren't even mad and were perfectly willing to pay, but they wouldn't even give us the option. That is what I call excellent customer service, even though they were hampered by technical issues beyond their control, they still did whatever they could to make sure we left with a positive experience.
Soon as we are in town again, we'll be giving Locals...
Read moreAfter viewing their menu on line we were excited to go in and try their 6 beer sampler so we could find a new delicious beer. But upon arrival we were informed that the bar tender simply would Not do samplers any more because she didnt "like" to do them? And she was pulling them off the menu but have not redone the on-line menus yet. So even though we felt the online menu that brought us in would imply they should honor the order we the customers were informed we were dead wrong. So then we tried to order a pitcher of a fruity type beer we thought would taste good and were told that the in house advertisement of $20 pitchers of beer were not going to be twenty dollars. We said Fine, charge us extra and bring us a pitcher please. Our server returned and told us the bar "did not want" to make us a pitcher so we could Not have one! Whispers from staff around the bar were.. she just got a higher position and is making Alot of changes that makes her job easier and does not take customers desires into consideration. She certsinly cost the owners some Good money this evening. Samplers are a Great wsy to get people drinking and wznting more but it is inconvenient to the new head bar tender so they are gone. So in conclusion they lost good money tonight and we certainly will not be returning...

First time eating here. Found the food to be tasty. I had the "bone in" Medium Buffalo Wings, the Mrs had the Garlic Parmesan wings. I tried one of hers, she one of mine, we both liked both flavors. If you get your wings "local" style, the french fries will be served under the wings. Can be good and bad. The wing sauce transfers to the fries, you may or may not like that. The bad part, the fries soaked up a lot of grease making them mostly uneatable. I will ask for my fries on the side next time. As far as the atmosphere, we enjoyed listening to some oldies from the 70's, and the decor mirrored items and photos of the local area. Very nice.
UPDATE: My wife and I, have made this a go to place when we visit our cabin in Fishhook, Alaska (3 to 4 times a year). We have tried many items on the menu, and have yet to be disappointed (short of the fries issue above), everything taste great. Staff has always been cordial, but never seem to get my joke about being seated in the "Out of...
