This is only the second place in 32 yrs that actually put Double Cheese on my Large Cheese Pizza. You say Double cheese and you don't get it. Most places when you order extra cheese you barley get that. That's why I started ordering Double Cheese. The undercarriage of the crust was great. When you have That much Cheese it's just melted it won't be Bubbly. So being only the Second one to use Double Cheese in 32 yrs I have to Give Them a 10 out of 10.For that. Which is it's own rating system. I will have to get a regular large cheese to evaluate the real cheese to sauce ratio with the cook on the Crust. So, far the signs are that this is my New Birthday Pizza Place. FYI Joe's in Saginaw used to use their old family recipe and pizza oven, that that family had used for 100+ yrs. I was buying their Pizza since 1986 in Hackettstown NJ. They moved to Texas 2006 where I am at. The Pizza was a 9.5! The nephew bought the place changed the sauce dough and cooking. Went to a wire mesh under dough system like Dominos. Obviously to make more money. But it's a Disgrace to their whole family. 3.1 Just buy Little Ceasars. Same Quality. I no longer Recommend Joe's in Saginaw. These business are not related! Joe's Pizza and Pasta in Watauga still gives you a properly made pizza. I Recommend Joe's Pizza and Pasta in Watauga. I will give an actual rating when I try their standard large...
Read moreI have been looking for great place near NRH. Finally found one on Denton Highway. 6024 to be exact. The place has the feeling of a 1950'-60's joint. A bit eccentric decor but in a good way. But the food is only matched by the service. Wonderful ! We've only been twice but you can tell the customers have been coming for years. One thing I noticed was all the to go pickups. Constant stream of happy customers.
No nouvelle cuisine here. Just great time tested favorites. I had the Veal Picatta based on Duda's recommendation. I'm sure the Marsala would have been great also. My companion had the Tour of Italy which she enjoyed. The only fault I found is the salad so I skipped it the 2nd visit..
Get the Garlic Bread for a real treat. I'm going to try and make this at least a 3 times month place. There are so may menu items I want to explore at this retro restaurant. I can't say enough good things about this place except it beats up the Olive Garden type places on all counts.
Prices are downright cheap, portions are big and delicious. Owner is appreciative of his patron's business and has friendly employees. All in all a wonderful place that...
Read moreHow do you rate a place that you've known and loved since your childhood. A place that you bring out of town friends to, and they also love. I'll tell ya. You compare literally everything else to them . When you're somewhere eating lasagna, you ask yourself, "Wouldn't you rather be at Joe's" When you order pizza for the night, you wonder why you even bothered calling chains when Joe's is always happy to hear from you. When you have someone else, Stromboli, you get confused about why it's so small and not filled up. Jokes aside, they are amazing! They are beyond affordable! I have seen the same group, same family, and same friends for literally over 20years even if they don't realize I've been coming to them for that long, if not longer. You don't last that long, and watch wars start and end. two recessions, a pandemic and an age of Karens without being the best coming out unscathed and loved by all. Anyone who says anything other than good things about them probably enjoys bland food and think chili's is fine dining. Go here, get a Stromboli order and extra sauces. Then just goto town....
