Jassie's Cafe — Restaurant in Waterloo

The higher cost of day to day living, groceries, gas, and so forth has sadly made dining out a special occasion instead of a habit. I hadn't visited Jassies for quite some time, and I forgot how much I enjoyed their breakfast and really reasonable prices. My fav is Ham Eggs Hashbrowns and Toast. So many places have started serving what I would call "fake" ham, you know, the cheap stuff that is pressed into an oval loaf shape. The ham at Jassies was a very nice, thick piece of the real deal. The hashbrowns were excellent and not over seasoned, I can add my own salt, etcetera. The eggs were also prepared just as ordered. The atmosphere is like any small town style cafe. The staff was nice. They were attentive and kept my coffee full. It was very clean and comfortable. I suspect that there are lots of regular customers since they greeted many by name. Omgoodness, we were left very satisfied & impressed! 👍🏽 If you want a place that is worth your money, I urge you to go try Jessie's Cafe in Waterloo, Iowa! Trust me you won't leave disappointed! We are from out of state & we were looking for mom & pop's breakfast type of place to go to before getting back on the road again to head back home. I got the country fried steak omelette with gravy & my fiance had the waffle breakfast. Oh my, I didn't realize how big my omelette was & had to split it with my fiance. food is great and love their staff, great customer service. They’re so friendly and attentive. Brought a friend here one morning and she’s very particular about how her food is cooked. she asked for sautéed veggies on her hash. She felt as if it wasn’t sautéed enough and made a comment when food was brought to her. Of course they offered to remake but she declined as she was starving. The waiter was very nice about it and even ended up telling her they will get it right next time and took some off her bill. He did not have to do that but I thought that was really...
