The entire staff should take the ServSafe class/exam as their service and food safety knowledge is... non-existent. They were handling cash at the register with gloves on, moving around their Baker's racks & trash bin with the same gloves...then prepared numerous order with those VERY SAME GLOVES. Upon placing my order, I politely request that they wash their hands and change their gloves. The young staff laughed at my request, defended their reason for not doing so, even advised that they change their gloves with each order. Mind you, I watched them take and make at least five orders prior to placing mine at the register. I could have left the store but as a food service worker, it is necessary to educate people of the health risk they present in these such behaviors. Not to mention, the young lady who was making the pizzas had a ponytail that was fairly long and her hair kept dragging across the prep area, in several of the food containers, even in some of the pizzas. In all fairness, she kept brushing her long ponytail away however, she was doing so with the SAME GLOVES. As well as pulling up her pants bottoms by the belt loops intermittently through out serving with those same gloves. I called the store manager the next day to share my experience and Chris, (the manager), told me I was lying he saw his staff the night before and he did not have an issue with the young lady and her hair, they're not required to cover their hair they only need to pull it back and they can't change gloves with each order when there's a rush/busy crowd like the one I waited in....hmmm, that's scary 🤔 I told him that the servers hair drug across the prep area and to no surprise we managed to have a long blonde strand in order pizza. Chris asked if I still had the pizza and hair to which I told him no, we threw it out and my call was to report the piss poor experience not replace the pizza. Chris told me I was just trying to hustle a free pizza. I told him I am aware of the food service requirements that they most abide by in the state of IA and his store was in clear violation of numerous codes. I also noted that as a store manager he had poorly addressed the matter and I requested his superior's contact information. Chris flat out told me he refused to provide the information and there was no one else I could address my concerns with...hmmm, 🤔I told Chris since he refused to assist me, basically called me a liar and would not provide a reasonable solution to providing healthy, safe service in his store I would find the contact information for the district manager and report him, I'll be contacting corporate as I was more than willing to do the work to locate their office now and every site online that offers a customer review I WILL be sharing my experience there as well. I gave Chris one more opportunity to provide the requested information & a solution, he again refused. I told his as a manager, he should have apologized for the poor experience and offered a solution at the beginning of the call. But because he was convinced the black voice on the other end of the line was just someone who, as he stated "is trying to just hustle a free meal," he was not willing to extend the same courtesies and satisfactory service to me. I told him what could've easily been resolved in three minutes now had us on the line for a half an hour with no solution and now a disgruntled customer. I thanked Chris for his time and apologized that we we're unable to communicate more effectively but assured him I will be making sure my experience in store as well as on the phone with him is shared with the higher ups. I assured him this was a teachable moment and hopefully he will understand the severity of the my concerns and gaining a better understanding of customer service once my experience is shared with his boss and Papa Murphy's...
Read moreMy sister and I went up to Waterloo Papa Murphy’s on Kimball Ave in 7/23/23 to order my nephew a Pokeball Pizza for his birthday. The employee at the cash register was nice, but the male employee who made our pizza complained the entire time AND did an awful job. Literally 15 peps, and a sad line of black olives down the middle. I used to work at this exact Papa Murphy’s location. I couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed in the lack of care and service. However, SINCE I am a past Papa Murphys employee, I was able to use my pizza artistry skills to fix the Pokeball Pizza. 😎
Long story short: if you can’t complete a special request, there is no need to try if you aren’t going to give it your absolute best effort and complain the whole time. Especially with a ten dollar tip.
Added photo to show how absolutely baller the Pokeball Pizza turned out after I...
Read moreI know it's a little late and I hate to score this so low. This happened about 6 months ago. My wife ordered the usual cowboy pizza for her and our 2 adult kids. I wasn't home when she purchased it. Cooked it per the directions ate the pizza. Our youngest (18) had a massive stomach ache a few hours later. I got called in the middle of my shift and left work to see if I could help her. I of course warmed up some slices and ate them. Shortly after all of this my son comes running through the living room and releases everything in his stomach. My wife was next praying to the porcelain. I immediately realized that the pizza was bad and tossed itbout. 5 hours later I too was insanely sick. We emptied both ends for several hours playing musical toilet seat. I love Papa Murphys but sadly I will never order a pizza...
