Sidecar Coffee Shop — Restaurant in Waterloo

I’m not in coffee shops to often but after I visited this one I think I’ll be going to more. I’ll bring the review to you while I’m at it. Great atmosphere. Chargers at every table. I was extremely productive here and I’d definitely recommend it to others. I got a large Iced Dirty Chai Latte. The server took a little over 10 mins to make a coffee so not the fastest but I was gonna be there for a while anyway. They have outdoor seating. Sorry I didn’t get many pictures this time but I will get more next time when I go back. A little pricey but I’m not broke so I treat myself every now and then.

New week = New review: This time my coffee was done in less than 5 mins (I got a vanilla iced Latte). S/O to the barista Audrey for blessing me with a smile and being happy to answer all of my questions to help me decide what I want (I just started drinking coffee). Yooooo! The Optimist is the greatest of all time. Loving that drink for years. Always enjoy the coffee. Side car has a unique flavor. Yum. So so on the pastry and available goodies. And I know, and like, a lil too cool attitude at coffee shops, sometimes it is well placed.... but keep it focused on the customers and not so much just an employee click handing you the drink... we're here too.... lol.... that is why your making the drink. I feel the kids though.... customer service can get mundane... but in my experience including those customers in the daily barista action (like bartending) keeps them engaged and coming back for product and service. Sometimes it is personally rewarding too. When they had the downtown Waterloo location by the riverloop.... that staff got it. There was engagement and energy. I made a point to stop by frequently through out the week. Still love the coffee! Always will....

My carpool and I come here almost every Wednesday morning on the way to work. Typically it's pretty decent. Last week I had a hot chocolate that tasted like hot milk without chocolate, and this week I had a Frank Sinatra that tasted the same. We've also experienced inconsistencies with breakfast sandwich bread. Not a huge deal, but we are never sure what to expect.
