Uncle John's RRR Bar — Restaurant in Waterloo

I’m a live music photographer and shoot events all over the Midwest. I was shooting photos of a touring band at vintage Wine bar across the street from this venue. I talked the band into going over to have a drink at this bar. I was hungry, so ordered a burger. I let both the bartender and the cook know that I would be at the pool table and to let me know when the burger was ready to go. Before I knew it, the bar was closing. When I ask the owner, something Gallagher, who was drunk and still drinking, about my burger, not only did he inform me it was given away, but he blamed it on me for not hearing my name called. It did not matter to him that I informed his staff of my location. He ultimately verbally attacked me for speaking up and escalated it to kicking me out because he obviously didn’t want to deal with it. It seems like more of a mob bar where people will gang up on a person, then a small town friendly place like I experienced at Vintage Wine...

I want to start out by saying my husband and I really enjoy the burgers from here. We get them frequently. We have never had a problem until today. Called an order in and was told it would be ready in 25 minutes. I was just leaving Schnucks so I just went and sat outside the bar until my 25 minutes were done. Finally was time to go in to get the food and was told he was so busy he hadn’t had time to do them yet. He apologized and said to give him another 20 minutes and he’d get them done. Went back to my car and waited 25 minutes. Thought I’d give him an extra 5 minutes. Go back in to get the food and he says, “I was waiting on you to come back, we are out of hamburger’s. I went to the freezer too and there aren’t any there either.”. I waited 50 minutes for food they didn’t even have. To say I was ticked would be an understatement. I didn’t say anything because I knew if I did it wouldn’t be pretty for him or me. Best to bite my tongue and...

A fun bright dive bar with a Nashville ish feel. They have made the most of the space with tons of fun aesthetic. All the lights and signs, a fun outside patio that had cute cactuses and pretty flowers and bright paint, the music selection is upbeat, and they even have a area under their back patio that is like a tiny hang out. It kind of reminds you of city museum. Go climb under there! Not your average bar. They have a little kitchen that serves up delicious flat burgers and fries, among other things! The kitchen staff has always been very nice everytime we have stopped to get burgers for the family. They even added a takeout window to the front. Easy to find with the cool red white and blue lighting in the front! Easy to get bar service for cheap drinks! Also good people watching on one of the main corners in Waterloo!
