Banh Mi Cafe — Restaurant in Watertown

Anyone claiming to be a sandwich fanatic would know that the Vietnamese-take with their banh mi is a flavorful rainbow tickling just about everything on your tongue and the right amount of textural differences that excites the culinary palate. So as obvious my bias is to the banh mi, I've been quietly awaiting their soft opening to try at least two sandwich before eventually ordering their whole menu over a span of a week or a month. I visited at the later part of the day on the final leg of their soft opening and ordered two banh mi to-go just to visually watch how their team worked together amidst an unexpected rally of customers repeatedly entering the doors (wow - there are a lot of people who love a good sandwich - surprise...surprise).

There are definitely a lot of growing to do BUT they are handling it quite well. I'm sure they will figure it out as each day progresses so let's talk food, which is always what really matters.

Size...is pretty generous and the banh mi is stuffed all the way. Bread had both the crunch and the chew. Meat - both beef and chicken - were salty, sweet, and succulent - WIN! Garnishes were tart, sweet, and bouncy on the bite - WIN again. Jalapeños were not remotely having any heat - unexpected. Can't wait to be back again.

Still my favorite "sandwich" and glad it's even more accessible with their location in Watertown. Welcome and best...

For many, it is to spread happiness, to create impactful art, to share delicacies, or to excel in sport. I believe I was placed on this earth to embody toughness.

On the storming night on which I was born, the hospital ran out of beds for newborns. All that remained was a conveniently baby-sized bed of nails. This was the comfiest bed I have ever known. In middle school, I won the World's Strongest Man competition, using only my non-dominant hand. I watched the movie Rambo, and thought to myself: "I didn't know they made a documentary about me!" I have never shed a tear, for I thought, until but a few hours ago, that it was not even possible.

That was when it happened. I took my first bite of the Banh Mi Cafe beef banh mi sandwich. A single tear of joy is now falling down my perfect jawline.

I now see the reason for my being: to eat more of...

It was my first time visiting this spot after seeing this featured on a post on Instagram and it was perfect since I was trying to find a place that served condensed milk iced coffee with ube foam! The place is small but is definitely inviting and the owner and crew was super nice and friendly. I ordered a total of four items, 1 condensed milk iced coffee with the ube foam and a strawberry refresher, and 2 Banh Mi sandwiches - The Classic Cold Cuts, and the Grilled Pork.

Pricing and portion sizes were great, you absolutely cannot go wrong with either or any of the Banh Mi sandwiches. Great ratio of meat to bread and all the ingredients were super fresh. The coffee was very satisfying and hit the spot, and the refresher was a great pick up later on in the day.
