This is a scenic spot along the Charles River trail! It's a beautiful small waterfall/dam. You can view it from both the north and south side of the trail. The north side has an overlook. The south side has a walking area right up to the river at the base.

Stunning! Always ducks and seagulls and so on! There is two hour parking all along the street by the bridge, and it’s shady too so good for hot days like today! I always see people fishing, and there is a sprinkler park not far.

A beautiful spot to walk and watch the wildlife. It's common to find great blue herons and night herons fishing here. Sometimes if your lucky you can even find a large snapping turtle sunning itself on the rocks below the dam.

I love walking along the trails and looking out at all the wildlife from the bridge. It's such a relaxing spot, and I highly recommend the area for a calm walk or picnic along the docks.

I work right next to the dam. So much calm and peace, and never too crowded. There are plenty of parking in the office spaces around during weekdays and weekends.

The Watertown Dam spans the Charles River 980 feet upstream from the Watertown Bridge near Watertown Square in Watertown, Massachusetts. The dam is located where the Charles River tidal estuary historically ended. Watertown Dam is of concrete construction, a gravity dam, last rebuilt in 1966. Its length is 220 feet.
