October 2024: The person (Jackie) who served me was on her first day, but she was still very nice. She was cleaning and setting tables, and working very hard to meet everyone's needs. I applaud her on her care! It did take a little while for them to take my order after I placed the menu down, but they were juggling 30 things at once.
The food took around 20 minutes to get out, but it was worth it, because it was absolutely incredible. I got Tonkatsu ramen (I recommend for beginners and people who don't like spicy food). I have been to many ramen restaurants, and I can confidently say that this one was one of the best ones (food-wise) that I have ever been to. The meat was perfectly tender, the noodles al dente, and the broth rich and creamy. All the toppings were full of flavor and paired amazingly with the food. I spent $20.20 with a 20% tip.
The atmosphere was very elegant and defined. They had pleasant piano music playing, though there was lots of chatter, but that's expected on a friday night. Their tables were numbered, I'm assuming so that the right food gets to the right place. The silverware was clean and shiny. The lighting was dim, but the sources were a little bright. The design of the restaurant has elements of both modernism, with the side lighting and the vases, and a nice classic feel with the design of the place itself.
The workers' uniforms were black and professional, though someone had open-toed shoes who was working there.
The restroom was very clean, and the stalls are wood-colored. They provide baby changing stations, but they were out of bed-liners. There's 4 toilet paper holders, so they should never be out. There's nothing automatic, and they had paper towel dispensers, which I personally see as a win.
The seating, even on a busy Friday night, was pretty generous and they were careful with their spacing and attention to detail. They have two seating areas, and a high table option. I believe they also had booster seats available for families with children.
Apologies for the blurry photos.
Edit (2025): I STILL often order Door dash, because the Tonkatsu Ramen is TO DIE FOR. I really love this place, and continue to think it deserves all the...
Read moreTL;DR We are definitely going again. The food is good, the staff is kind, and it's definitely worth the wait!
-Full Review- First of all we went opening day in the evening. However, it was very delicious food! We went in for the evening dinner and it was crowded. They didn't seem to have a lot of staff, plus I thought I heard they are still hiring. We knew going in that the wait times would be long. At our table we saw at least 5 others walk out 2 of which were after ordering and 1 after getting their food. They were running as fast as they could and there were mistakes obviously. Food that was ordered for those tables was coming out and they didn't know they left so that set everyones food behind. Dine out was nuts, we saw tons of to go orders being ran out. First day they did the best they could. They were super apologetic even after our food came late and I ended up eating 25mins after the others. I wanted to get the bill and leave because I was tired but planned on paying for all we ordered. My bowl came out last minute. Again this is OPENING DAY AND BUSY! The ramen was delicious i love the naruto and chasu in the shoyu ramen, my husbands habachi was savory and crispy, although he never got the house salad in the rush. He was filled up right away, my father had shrimp fried rice he was filled instantly too. His only complaint was he only got 3 shrimp, honestly this is a joke in the family he's not upset about it. My son had the beef ramen, he liked it but he said he only needed a touch of soy sauce. The boba tea was delicious. The strawberry or coffee ones are really good, the thai tea is...
Read moreWhen you love good authentic food and you find a gem where you least expect it... It makes you want to come back again and again. This was my first time in to Osaka. I came specifically for the ramen and was shocked by the variety of cultures represented (not always a good sign). But it's literally the only place I've been to where the summer rolls are filled with fresh herbs (seasonally available) and shrimp. Most Vietnamese and Thai places around Milwaukee just use lettuce and noodles and you're lucky if there's any protein. The pork belly yakitori skewers were salty and sweet and melted in your mouth. The Red Tonkotsu ramen noodles themselves were tender and delicately thin. With a rich broth and great spice and enough fixings to make me contently full.
On my second visit they didn't have fresh herbs for their summer rolls. I get it. Winter in Wisconsin isn't exactly great fresh herbs weather. I tried the beef rib ramen on the chefs specials list. It was amazing with lip tingling spiciness. Next time I'm going to try a rice bowl... Unless it's still -20!
Third time in today but today we're still freezing so ramen it is! Asked for a suggestion and was recommended to try the brisket... Spicy of course! Great contrast of the sweet meat that was so tender you could pull off pieces with your chopsticks and the creamy...
