Bartender didn't know what I meant by "double whiskey and ginger ale", told me they had food then told me I can't order off the menu cuz their frier is down, said they have homemade pizza then proceeded to open a frozen pizza in front of me out of obvious factory. I told her I change my mind and want to just leave before she poured my drink, still charged me for the pizza cuz she cut the plastic, which I had to pay with cash because they don't take cards, so had to pay ATM fee on top of the cost of the pizza which i didn't even eat because it wasn't in the oven yet anyways and just wanted to leave. Read moreI wandered in here to kill some time after missing a train back up to Milwaukee. At first I felt like it was a cliquey townie bar and maybe I should leave. The bartender Brian made me feel like family and educated me about the awesome union history and the bar as a historical site. I had the privilege of meeting the woman who owns it and she's so freaking cool. I will go out of my way to come back here because of the amazing sense of community. Neighborhood bars are dwindling in America. This place deserves all your money...
Read moreGreat, friendly neighborhood bar & grill. 7 hours from home, brother & I spent 4 evenings here after spending days with a relative in hospital. All the staff was friendly & fun and all the food we had was great! Friendly patrons & "regulars" too! Burgers, pulled pork, hand made pizza (pre-made, frozen on site...just ask!)...but the rueben was best I've ever had! 😋 [PS: Try the Malort at your own peril,.. 😬] Thanks to Paul at the grill & all the servers, we had a good week & uncle got home safe. 10...
