Lee's Famous Recipe Chicken — Restaurant in Wausau

Stopped in this afternoon to do some 'homework' and I've been craving the fish fry. The gentleman at front didn't have a name tag but i'd like to mention his customer skills are very admirable and felt like he treated me better than anyone else out in the public this week. Rough week, so nice to come here and be treated like a human(: thank you And fish fry was great(: the atmosphere is friendly...noone cussing from the kitchen, yelling at each other, etc. How nice. And it seems staff treat each other with respect and this is rare today. So I'm happy for you all there, at least it seems like a good work environment. Way to go!! Service was great. Food was ready literally as we were sitting down, I couldn’t have been happier and more excited to try the chicken for the first time. And then I tried it, the most bland tasting food I’ve even eaten. I even ordered the spicy sandwich, which to my surprise is the exact same breading as regular but comes with the spicy sauce which was in no way spicy and could only be described as yellowish mayonnaise but somehow worse, and I hate mayonnaise. I almost don't want to do this feedback. The actual plain chicken was delicious like it normally is. I ordered a couple extra wings. Both the wings and the prepackaged bbq sauce were not good. The wings were painfully dry and the sauce just was not tasty. 2 others tried & agreed. The thighs, Cole Slaw & Baked Beans were delicious! As good as ever. It's clear that wings are not a specialty and it's understandable. They're barely on the menu at all. I understand they aren't a specialty but I figured they needed to hear that the wings & sauce just were not worth...
