I'll preface this by saying that I get pad Thai at every Thai restaurant I go to, and I travelled around Thailand doing the same. First the good - the fried egg "wrap" atop the pad Thai is a neat little uncommon thing. Good to see a place try that. However, this restaurant falls into the trap of too many American Thai restaurants with its over reliance on "mystery red sauce" comprised of sugar, tamarind paste, and other spices. It leaves a coating of goop on the plate (pictured) and in your mouth. Note how the chopped spring/green onions are limp and without texture. Same with the bean sprouts - it's imperative that these are added later to the wok and not cooked for the same duration as the noodles and sauce. There's no crunch or contrast in texture, it's all one homogeneous mouthfeel. Same goes for a light topping (or side dish) of peanuts - they were very sparse here. Note the little lime slices? That's because they are cocktail lime slices - they had to bring them from the bar at my request because they didn't bring the dish out with any proper sized lime wedges! I used to feel bad being a bit harsh to pad Thai purveyors but I try to be informative and polite. You've already done the hard work of opening the restaurant, just please, use more fresh, crisp vegetables in the dish and stop using red sauce so much. Pad Thai is one of my favorite foods and overall, the taste here is a great start. It could be so much better though. Our waitress was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu and the ambience was nice.

First of all, this place is super hard to find at night. Nothing about the building says Thai food and there’s no illuminated sign indicating the name of the restaurant. Delivery hours are not adhered to, when I called their delivery driver had left early for the day so only pick up was an option. I got there and there was nobody at the station to ring me up or give me my food. There was staff at the bar and walking around the restaurant, everybody ignored me. Finally I walked up to the bar and asked if I was supposed to pick up takeout orders from here. She says no, there’s supposed to be somebody at the desk, she’d help me in a minute. She rings me up, hands me my food, and walks away. No “have a good night” “hope you enjoy” nada. As far as the food, not the best Thai. They don’t use Chinese broccoli in their pad see eew and there were giant chunks of egg where normally would be smaller and with more sauce. The beef didn’t taste very fresh, either. Disappointed overall.

When we went to the restaurant, it was very spacious seating. We went early evening. However, around 6pm or so, here comes the floodgate of folks ready to eat. It was a very nice experience. Our server was very nice and attentive. However, there was no uniformity to the servers. All of them were in street clothes and look like they were about to all go to a picnic or chill out at any minute. Oh well . . . The food was tasty. We had the seaweed salad, fried spring rolls, crab Rangoon, chicken skewers and veggie tempura for starters. We also had the beef teriyaki with fresh vegetables, shrimp fried rice and beef & chicken and veggies medley with brown rice. I will definitely go again!

The restaurant looks clean and modern inside. Parking seems to be primarily on the street. They we not very busy when we went but there small lot was full so I suspect it's employee parking also. Not a terribly bad neighbor hood and there is ample street parking off of north avenue so you won't walk more than a block. They do have an outdoor dinning deck but you are only one sidewalk away from busy North avenue, so unless you like the sound of Harleys roaring by every 5 minutes , I would stick to inside. The menu is divided between a Thai side and a "sushi restaurant" side. Every time I travel I check out the local Thai restaurants and compare curries. usually Red. That was my choice here. They have a spice range between 1 to 3 with three labeled as "native". The most common range I have seen is a 1 to 5 and sometimes you can ask for "native and get a 6+. I found the three here to be equivalent to the 3 on a 1 to 5 scale. To be sure, it was flavorful with a good balance between sweetness, coconut flavor and heat. It just wasn't as I hot as I personally like it, but fine for most people. My wife had the yellow curry which had the same heat level as the red, but also good. My son had the chicken Teriyaki. It includes an assortment of vegetables (broccoli, carrots, cabbage, etc.) and a large scoop of rice. The vegetables were warm but much closer to raw than sautéed. Everything was floating in a plate of thin teriyaki sauce. They either need to cut the sauce or serve the rice in a separate bowl, or serve the excess sauce in a separate bowl so the customer has some control on the amount. My daughter went with a salmon sushi roll. It was very well plated and look quite appealing. We has the crispy squid appetizer. It came out pipping hot and perfectly done. Service at most Thai restaurants is more family style with the a plate for your rice and the curries in separate bowls with separate that can be shared with a serving spoon. Here you got a plate with a mound of rice to the side and a slightly smaller bowl than usual on the plate and a single spoon. Yes you can just move the bowls off the plates to share and ask for additional eating utensils but it seemed different than other restaurants. Also, you are usually offered more rice if you run out, not here. In summary, if you want Thai and you're in the area, this is a good choice, but my go-to Thai restaurant will continue to be about a ten minute farther...

I tried Thai-namite at an off peak time on a week night. I decided to dine in as opposed to carry out for the sake of tasting the food fresh out of the kitchen. I ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc but was given a Pinot Grigio, strange but not the end of the world. I am a big fan of Tom Kha soup so I ordered a cup with chicken (also offered with shrimp). The soup was fantastic, I will even go as far as to say "the best I've ever had" it was bright and fresh with just a little heat. One of the things I look for is the use of proper ingredients. For example, Tom Kha should have Straw Mushrooms. I would begrudgingly accept Shitake. Result: Straw Mushrooms! Yay!

For my entree I ordered Volcano Chicken.Thai-namite offers three degrees of heat ranging from one to three (three being hottest). I used to think the hotter the better but, in recent years my tolerance to heat seems to have diminished some. Not all restaurants that offer variable heat use the same scale or interpretation methods. So, to be on the safe side I went with two/medium heat. Heat was not an issue, there was enough but, not too much. The server told me I could get more of the "hot stuff" if necessary. It wasn't. The presentation was nice. I appreciated the placement of the items in the caste iron skillet. Cabbage, carrots and sauce filling the bottom and the crisp sliced breaded chicken on top with a little sauce drizzled on top finished with scallions. It was a nice presentation and it did not disappoint. I am thrilled to have a quality Thai restaurant nearby and I am looking forward to going back soon.

Server was attentive, even though when server wasn't helping me (server's only guest at the time) server stood in the dining room texting or whatever on their phone. A little discretion would be appreciated.

The only detractor I found was that the floor was sticky. I don't mean there was a sticky spot somewhere. I mean the entire floor was sticky. It's a beautiful floor, terrazzo. It takes a certain type of cleaner. It can't be acidic or alkaline or it can be damaged. Amazon sells Bona stone, tile and laminate floor cleaner...

It was my birthday today and my friends and I went to dinner at Thai-namite to celebrate. I have been there once before and had the best waiter and excellent food. So I thought this would be a great place for a special night. The waiter (who I will not name) was so totally rude and dismissive. I asked if I could have breast meat chicken in my dish and he coldly said they would not do that and that it's all mixed up chicken meat. I joked with him and said "it's my birthday" and told him that the last time I was there they did make my dish with breast meat chicken and I asked if he could ask the kitchen and I would pay an additional fee. He was rude and just said no, they can't do that. I then found an appetizer that was chicken breast strips on sticks and ordered that with my dish. I told him I would put the breast meat in my dish myself. So I had to order 2 dishes. Obviously if they make breast meat chicken strips they could have put that in my dish. He didn't even offer that solution. He was rude the whole time we were there and barely looked at us or checked in on us. My friends agreed with me and thought he was very rude and nasty. I have never had such a rude waiter. I generally leave a 25%-30% tip because I think it must be so hard to be in the the restaurant customer service industry. But, I would not have left this gentleman a cent, but because it was my birthday my friend paid for the meal and did not feel right not leaving a tip. I told the front door staff what a terrible experience we had and they said they were very sorry and they would tell the manager. I don't know if they did or not, but I will never go back to that restaurant again. A special birthday dinner turned out to be a very...
