Service was well provided. Lindsey was very customer oriented and ready to answer questions on the menu, offer willingness to provide drinks, and just overall had a great attitude. The food. I ordered a Caesar salad along with a prime rib and chicken alfredo. Salad came out flavorful, and almost immediately after ordering. Was not over dressed and was crisp at the same time. The rest of the meal was delivered after 33 minutes. Far too long for even one person, let alone the fact that my order should have been for two. First off, the pasta, was cooked to al dente perfection. However, it was either not seasoned or cooked in salty water. Noodles had almost zero flavor. The sauce was negligible at best, as it had no flavor to add to the noodles. Almost more of a moisture barrier than anything. The chicken on top, while cooked well and seasoned well, was cool at best. It appeared to have died in the window. The coup de gras was the prime rib dinner. This was ordered blackened and medium rare. I have to start with the fact that this is one of the most difficult ways to prepare a prime rib, yet the cooks managed to pull it off. The flavor was amazing, exactly what I hoped for. The cook was perfection at its finest, a spot on medium rare. They were however doomed from the start with a rough cut of beef. While flavorful and cooked how it was asked, it was very tough to cut and chew. Upon speaking with Travis, the head chef at the time, he was aware of the lack of tenderness in the meat. Again, flavor and cook point were spot on. Just a rough rib. Overall, Lindsey was great for srcice, as quick as possible, Travis was great upon discussion of the discrepancies, but the food quality itself was lacking. Was still a good experience. Hoping that the next trip will be better after the conversation held....
Read moreI absolutely love the burger at Sandhill Cafe and have had many great experiences there, but tonight was definitely not one of them.
We were seated in the very back of the restaurant and waited over 30 minutes from our order until our food was brought out (it was a Tuesday around 7PM so the place was not busy), our waters were left empty, and then the food was cold when it was brought out. The waitress sent the manager over and she was honestly quite rude and made it seem like we were wasting her time for commenting on the food. We weren't trying to cause a problem - we just wanted the food to be warmed up. My wife and I have both worked in restaurants so we are well aware when food has been sitting under a lamp for 15 minutes.
The manager warmed up the food, but left the lettuce and fries on the plates so we ended up with soggy lettuce and fries. My wife couldn't eat hers and the manager did take that off the bill, but, again, she was not very accommodating. It felt like we were to blame and she was just helping because she was required to and not that she actually cared to make the problem right.
As I said before, I love the food at the restaurant, but the staff fell short tonight. If you do eat here, then I would recommend asking to sit up front by the entrance so that you aren't...
Read moreWell let's see we were waiting for 40 minutes when told it was going to be 30 with 6 adults and 2 children to go to Sandhill Cafe. Mind you it wasn't full on a Sunday morning while waiting a family came right up and walked right in to be seated with the same amount of people. Manager said that it was because they were VIP really my money is just has good as theirs. Then 20 minutes later when we finally got seated we had a accident with a glass of pop and the waitress was cleaning up the table and I asked if she could bring a mop up to clean up the floor under the table she said she would and she never came back. Then when we ordered our food it took so long to come out that people around us were being seated, fed, paid and left before we got our food. We got there and put our reservation in at 10 for breakfast and we finally left the restaurant at 12:30 that to me was way too long and the waiter wasn't even that good. Pretty sad if you ask me. Really don't think that I will ever bring my...
