My husband, youngest son and I wanted to try something and somewhere new for dinner. My sister has been raving about this place for quite some time, so we decided to try it on a late Saturday evening. We were definitely not disappointed. There was a bit of a wait and you had the choice of waiting inside in a room off to the side, where you can order drinks, or outdoors in your car, where you will receive a call when your table is ready. We opted to remain inside because it was such a rainy and dreary day. After about a 35 minute wait, we were seated and placed our drink order. We also went ahead and placed our food order because we were starving. They have an eclectic cocktail and bar menu, as well as your usual soft drinks The first thing we ordered were the Reuben corn beef egg rolls as an appetizer because it is one of the most popular items on the menu and a customer favorite! I must warn you that if you order it as an appetizer you will definitely have a full stomach and will have to take your entree home. The corn beef in the egg rolls were so tender and lean. Hardly any fat at all. This really impressed my husband and youngest son because they didn't want a mouthful of fatty meat! You were provided with a thousand island dipping sauce that is made from scratch. The egg rolls were good with or without the sauce. Our next appetizer order was the General Tso's Cauliflower. By far my favorite! This can make you become a Vegan real quick! The sweet & spicy chili glaze transports you to a far away eastern country! My son ordered the Brisket Nachos as his entree and there was so much on his plate that he had to take it home! If Brisket isn't your thing, you can substitute the Brisket with wood-fired Chicken. The Brisket was tendered and the portion size did not disappoint. This platter was enough to feed two or three people. My husband ordered the Sliders which came with fries and a Faygo Pop ketchup sauce for dipping your fries in. The Sliders are steamed with minced onions and come on a Brioche Bun. He said they were okay, but the Reuben Egg Rolls were his favorite! I did not order an entree because the Egg Rolls and Cauliflower filled me up. I did order a bowl of the French Onion soup which I found to be a little bland. The service and staff were top notched and made sure that we were enjoying our visit with them. We were so impressed with this place that my son now orders online and picks up his order to go at least once a week. My husband and I are looking forward to our next visit here and trying other items on the menu! You can bet that we will definitely start off with the Reuben Egg Rolls and General Tso's Cauliflower! Try them! You'll regret it if you don't!

I was so excited when I heard they were open for dining again! Their jalapeño dip was amazing and still is and they added corn chips along with the pizza bites. They used to have amazing and I mean top notch service, the servers were extremely personable and always offered different menu items, they used to even give me the water carafe since I need it filled so frequently. Tonight, service was decent, but not over the top great. The server was nice, but so many people came to the table, it wasn't always clear who our server was (not to mention un-covid safe). The mini clear face shields they wore were definitely not designed to wear without a mask and it's a good thing they didn't have actual masks because you wouldn't be able to hear them. The noise level was bad before and now it was 10 times worse. We go on crowded Friday evenings, but even the server warned us she would have to shout for us to hear her. I always order the sliders because they were amazing. Thick and juicy like mini cheese burgers rather than sliders. They even were so thick they had a pink center. Now, they are less than 1/4 inch thick, greasy and the cheese used stuck to the roof of my mouth like gum paste. The relish served with our sandwiches was new and very tasty. It had carrots, cauliflower, jalapeños and peppers all cut on the biased and pickled in a spicy but aromatic brine almost with hunts of cinnamon, very fall and very good. We mentioned liking the relish to the server and she welcomed the feedback, but when I told her about my favorite slider dish and how it was different, she said sorry then told me I need to order something different next time. We also told another person about the sliders (the 4th person to come to our table) and he got a bit defensive then just said sorry. The decor is beautiful, obviously the owner has put a lot of hard work into cleaning and making the place pretty, but he has certainly dropped the ball with food quality and server quality. This definitely was not the same American Avenue Bistro as it was before and we might not go back. Will definitely order some jalapeño dip to go though.

We just returned from celibrating a birthday at the Avenue American Bistro. There was more than 8 people sharing appetizers and some sawping of tacos and sliders both of which they do very well. I'm trying to say we covered a bit of the menu. I started with the special soup, broccoli cheese which came with a awesome triangle of puff pastry. It was delicious and well prepared soup. The General Tso's cauliflower was sticky, sweet heat deliciousness. It was so good we ordered 2. The smoked wings came out with a nice dry rub and smokey goodness. I ordered it with the white BBQ sauce. While the sauce was good, don't think you are getting Alabama style. So try a different sauce if you have had a proper Alabama white BBQ sauce in mind. The Korean beef brisket taco was packed full of flavors, I added jalapeños to mine and I must say both my son and I loved the heat. A perfect pair with the freshness of the kimchi slaw and brightness of fresh lime. The brisket is good and is a 14 hour smoke, but if you are looking for a slows style melt in your mouth brisket this is not that. However, for this taco I was not mad. It's worth it, especially if you like some spice order the jalapeños you won't regret it. Garlic parm fries, YES PLEASE! What can I say, done very well and a must purchase for the table everytime. It's a no brainer. The reuben egg rolls are rolled by hand every morning and it shows. These torpedoes of cornbeef, kraut, swiss came out pipping hot and juicy. The scratch made thousand island dipping sauce was done well and a welcomed accompaniment. Now for the last item, the Chikin So-Ho slider. You know the saying, save the best for last? It applies here, this hand breaded, then fried chiken coated in honey chili ginger glaze slider was hands down the best of the best in this run at the offerings of the Avenue American Bistro menu. I look forward to my next visit to get the sweet heat shrimp tacos, various wraps, and salads.

I used to really like the food at this restaurant but their new menu is absolutely awful. I had to force myself to order something, just to go along with the aesthetics of the outing. We arrived and we're seated immediately no wait that was great. The service was good but they kept coming to the table so much it became annoying and frustrating. At least 2 or 3 cooks came to the table to drop off food, that's ok, but the waitress would not let us enjoy our meal. Then the manger came over and stood over the table and talked for five to ten minutes. Then while still trying to finish the meal the waitress brought takeout containers and then proceeded to start touching people's food bagging up food touching dirty dishes at the same time just doing entirely too much. If I was able to get a decent meal I would have been able to deal with it better. However, they now have a one page menu that consists of biased food options, like brisket nachos. There was absolutely nothing on the menu I wanted luckily they had fries, I ordered regular fries and a chicken wrap which came with no options for crispy chicken so I had boring grilled chicken that I don't like. The fries were good the wrap was borderline of decent. The prices were pretty decent for the portions. Unfortunately, I will not be returning, the food options are terrible and the service is annoying. I was so looking forward to going because I've spent a lot of time at the Ave and the food and atmosphere was always great. I was very very very disappointed. Not to mention every ten minutes somebody in the kitchen or a waitress is dropping a plate and it makes the most annoying noise ever across the entire restaurant. After the fourth or fifth time, I said I gotta get out of here everyone agreed and we left. As of right now they've lost a 15yr customer. I refuse to return, there's no need with the poor menu options and annoying service. I miss the old Ave. The atmosphere is annoying and dry.I guess that's why everybody's going across the street to Brookies. Their...
