I’ve been here about ten times. The breakfast food is decent and the first time for two people it was $14. We actually kind of liked the place. The service absolutely sucks, though. I’ve never once had a drink filled up here by anyone other than myself. They only serve breakfast until 11. The past four times the total of the SAME meals was either $14 or $22? It was weird. We thought maybe they changed the prices or something. The same man has been our cashier every time. So this last time we went, and the person I was with said something when our meal (mine: 4.99+ his:4.99+ two coffees) totaled out to $22. There was just no way. The cashier then proceeds to run my card for $27, because I had tipped, and then agreed with us that he must have made a mistake and gave me a few dollars back. It was a strange experience, but that was about the third time we were totaled $22 for a $14 meal. I tried my best to like the place, but I’m done. Not only is the service terrible (teenage waitresses sitting on their phones never once filling up your drink, food takes especially long to cook) which I could look past, but the sneaky thieving is the final line. Never going to make the mistake of giving this place my money again, and I suggest you...
Read moreAtmosphere and service were average. Generally clean. The food was poor and the prices were high. The omelet looked to be two eggs with a paltry pinch of ham and cheese. I asked for American and received shredded cheddar. The ham was very dry. I commented to the waitress that is was the smallest omelet I'd ever been served a restaurant (not hyperbole, it was surprising), and received no response.
When I went to the counter to pay, the cashier was using a menu to check the prices. A looked and noticed that the prices were not the same as those listed on my table menu. I grabbed my menu to compare and asked if the prices were wrong. He told me that they were, and that the menu I used shouldn't have been on the table... after he added it all up, I asked if I would be paying the prices I expected or his updated prices. He sighed only, and added them up again off of my menu.
The $9 dollar, two egg omelet was already overpriced, but has now risen to $11. The biscuits and gravy, originally $4 for a large order, have risen to $7. Coffee had risen from $2, but I couldn't see to what. All said, I won't return based on...
Read moreI would venture to guess as someone who is not a "regular", that this place is not so keen on serving you. SO..to all my followers here is my rating on small town dining around the country for this Waynesville MO restaurant. Upon entering it was OBVIOUS I wasn't a regular(maybe lighting of the atmosphere showed me slightly a darker shade then most usually there?) I got nothing but looks from the door opening to me standing at the counter and ordering, from a watiress who made me feel like it was an inconvenience for me to be there. I ordered 2 omelets to go, paid 29 bucks for them 25 minutes later, in a place that had about 15 people in it. I expected to eat something that a 13 year old in home economics wouldn't have been able to make, but I was wrong. Even after paying and leaving I still got looks from staff and people eating there that made me feel like I couldn't leave fast enough. The food was subpar and that is being polite as I would venture to say MOST people can make eggs! Recommendation? I would skip this little "jewel" unless you want to see what drinking out of different water fountains...
