Easily one of the best meals we've had in awhile. We chose an unseasonably warm day to sit outside - while out of the restaurant's control, the weather definitely accentuated the experience. We ordered two iced teas - deliciously bitter. We started by splitting the potato pierogi plate. They were crispy, savory, and piping hot. They were served with a little sour cream. I would have preferred having a little more of the sour cream, but there was enough. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with Swiss cheese and a side salad. My wife ordered the turkey club sandwich with a side salad. The grilled chicken sandwich was phenomenal. The bun was soft, flavorful and a perfect vehicle for the grilled chicken breast which was perfectly prepared. What would otherwise be considered a "plain" sandwich needed no condiment or other embellishments to be craveable. My wife's turkey club... chef's kiss. The turkey was smoked and absolutely amazing. It tasted apple wood (?) smoked. My wife loved her sandwich, and I did too. Our side salads were perfectly dressed. If only one criticism, mine seemed a bit oil heavy - I'd have preferred more lemon. That said, I ate every single bite without apprehension. We are already looking forward to going back for dinner sometime soon.

The Frisco has gone downhill. We have come to the Frisco for years, and always considered it a staple for good quality, fairly priced, real food. They advertise that many of their ingredients are house-made, and I’ve always believed that! Bread is crusty with a great texture—not something you can find in the bread aisle at Schnucks. The bread on the French dip sandwich we ordered today was industrially baked. Texture was awful, marks on the bottom come from the industrial baking process. The waitress/kitchen claimed that the house recipe hasn’t changed in three years and all the bread is freshly made. We’ve ordered the French dip plenty of times in the past and never had bread like this. Beyond the bread, roast beef was gray and pickled vegetables weren’t flavorful at all. As another reviewer said, we paid for great food and got okay food. Or honestly, bad food. I regret not sending my sandwich back. We will not be returning for another meal! We’d love to. Seriously. The atmosphere is great. But ultimately, we are paying for the food, which sucked.

Frisco Barroom seems like it would be a nice place to go to eat but for now I could not say. As soon as I walked in, I noticed how chilly it was in the restaurant ( Nov18, 2018, about 45 degrees outside temp) the hostess sat us at a table. My wife asked me if we can move to a warmer area but the next table was not any better, in fact a couple already seated also mentioned how cold the restaurant was. We mentioned it to our waitress and she just dismissed us saying she didn’t feel cold. That was not cool. (This is why , for now they get two star.) I then decide to leave . We ended up at the Salt & Smoke restaurant where my wife and I had a nice meal sitting in a comfortable atmosphere. Like I said, Frisco Barroom seems like it would be a nice place to go. it has a nice outside area with an outdoor fireplace and full bar indoor. There is street parking and also a free parking lot on the back side. This of course is just one man’s opinion. I hope you enjoy yourself.

We had been to this location once during a busy lunch time & were seated right away. I’m pretty sure I gave it a 5-star rating on google.

This time there was no one greeting us to direct us to seating, so we walked in & seated ourselves at a table for four. A waiter came over finally and asked if we wouldn’t mind moving to a tiny table for two, since the table we were at is used for larger groups. On the other side of the room, there were at least three tables of four with only two people sitting. When the waiter came back with our drinks, I asked him why there were several people of two sitting at tables of four? He said he could move us to that side of the room if we wanted but we told him no. So we sat at a really small table stuck in the corner by a window. After he brought our drinks, he came back with an appetizer of roasted or fried cauliflower with two sauces for dipping as a gesture of goodwill about the seating arrangement & apologized about the confusion of seating. While it didn’t taste bad, cauliflower is not something I eat. The waiter didn’t explain what the sauces were so we discovered one was like a ranch dip & the other was spicy with a kick to it.

I wanted the trout & cheesy potatoes that I had before, so I ordered it again. Have you even eaten a powdered donut & accidentally inhaled when taking a bite? This is sorta what happened when I took my first bite of the trout. I spent five minutes coughing. There had to be a 1/4” of breading on top of the salmon, like it was added after the trout was cooked. The breading definitely wasn’t baked after it was put on to add a little crispness.

Two sides come with the entree, so I ordered cheesy potatoes that were so delicious last time & green beans. The green beans were way under cooked… it was like eating raw green beans. The cheesy potatoes has a thick layer of cornflakes on top… again not baked. I would have expected crushed cornflakes & slightly baked after being placed on the dish.

My wife had a generous portion of garlic butter grilled jumbo shrimp… 9 jumbo shrimp which were delicious. She also had the cheesy potatoes & just nibbled at it after she scraped off all of the corn flakes. Her other side was a creamy coleslaw… nothing epic… it’s coleslaw.

I did have a Cigar City Maduro brown ale which was delicious & my wife had a glass of their Pinot Grigio house brand wine.

I posted pictures on Yelp & a review.

Will we come here again? Chances...

My partner and I grew up in the area, so we were really excited to give this place a try. We booked my parents to watch our kids and headed to the Frisco for dinner on a Sunday. Upon arriving the feeling was ok, the building was decorated amazingly and the hostess was nice. We were seated in an awesome window seat (we did not request this seat but it felt great to be placed in such a good spot) far enough from others to feel covid safe and with a great view of Big Bend to keep us occupied. Our server took our drink order. She was extremely pleasant and got us waters and sodas pretty quickly. We placed our dinner order, and continued to enjoy our seat. About 5 minutes after we placed our order everything went downhill. The hostess seated a family of 5 (2 parents, 3 kids) basically on top of us- my partner was completely blocked in his seat by a high chair. Had I moved wrong, I could have easily bumped the little girl in the high chair in the head. With covid and everything going on I felt completely uncomfortable having a little child sitting so close to me, as I am vaccinated and she could not possibly be. About 5 minutes after that, we were made to move tables. Not they, who arrived 20 minutes after us and barely fit at their table, but us. We were placed at a tiny table in the middle of the dining area, where there was no view. I was repeatedly bumped into by passing customers and workers. After the move our server basically forgot we existed, it took all of the time we ate to get refills and took about 20 minutes for her to collect the bill after dropping it off to us. Not blaming her, I know her job is rough, it really seemed like the new delays were due to us being made to move tables. The food was ok but very overpriced. We were hoping to catch some type of break in our bill since we were treated pretty badly (I have never been asked to move to accommodate someone else after already ordering). No break- full price all the way up. I will not be returning, and I would not recommend the place. Not only because of the overpriced food, but the experience actually hurt my feelings pretty badly. So much for a nice night...

Saturday Night a group of 7 friends wanted to try a new restaurant. So we decided on the Frisco barroom, well that was the WRONG choice!!!!!! We were told at 6:40 that it would be a 1hour & 45 min wait at most.... So we decided to wait and have drinks in the mean time. Order drinks no issues with that, she was super fast with drink orders. So we waited and waited 1 hour has passed and we have watched people walk in with 2-3 partys and get seated. We asked how much longer it would be. They said it wouldn't be much longer... Another 30 min came and went. Still no table for us in sight.... never once did the hostess come to us and say anything about out table. Sorry for any inconveniences can we get you anything while you wait... Nope nothing. At this point we went to the hostess again and asked if we could order appetizers while we waited. They said oh of course and would sent someone right over!!! Yeah, that never happened!!! Then the young hostess came to where we were standing and asked if he could take the chair we were sitting in and use it for a table that just walked in YET again for a group of 5 people.. They never once came to us and said hey we just can't accommodate a party this large. Or said hey we have smaller tables close together could we maybe split the party up. No the continued to seat people who just walked in. We would have understand if they would have just said we can't accommodate a party this large tonight. That's Totally understandable! Instead we we're just blown off. 2 hours if waiting no table in site for us and we had enough we just left and went down the street to a restaurant that could accommodate a party of 7!

That being said I would have loved to try their food it looked and...
