Im so angry that I had to give myself time to calm down to write a review. I wanted to treat my pregnant daughter in law to breakfast and I let her choose this place. Of course Sunday you expect a wait that's a given. However; after almost a 2 hour wait standing patiently waiting our turn we get called. As we walk in to get our table the host is stopped by a lady who says half her party already was seated and they should get the table. So the hostess looks at us and says for us to go back outside and wait again because they needed our table. We go back outside thinking OK next table is ours then. But after watching groups after parties go in for tables that arrived after us I started to get aggravated. I finally walk in and tell the host and stated I don't care but my daughter in law is pregnant and has been standing almost 2 hours and I need to know if we need to leave and eat somewhere else because she must of crossed us off the list when she called us earlier she sternly stated she did NOT cross us off the list and they had multiple large groups taking tables and there were 4 more parties before us. I walked back outside to ask my daughter in law what she wanted to do and same as I was thinking she stated how are there 4 parties ahead of us when we were already called and then pushed back outside. After a debate of should we leave or wait since we had invested so much time and STILL seeing parties go in that arrived after us we were finally called. Not only would I have left and not given them my business but I would have given a piece of my mind but when you have a pregnant person who can't wait again somewhere else its a different story. I heard an elderly man tell his wife a table just opened up do you want it? As they sat down and we got sat right next to them sharing a table as they kept reaching over our drinks to get our napkins and salt. What an awful experience. I was so irritated the whole time it wasnt even enjoyable. Almost $60 for this experience. I hope the woman who took our table enjoyed her meal and I hope the hostess learns...
Read moreMy family came here after an event we attended at Chase Sanctuary (painting with lemurs- check them out!). It was a Sunday, so it wasn’t as lively as a day where the flea market is active. To be honest, it was perfect that way.
Waitress was fantastic, very attentive. But the food. The FOOOOODDDDD. Out of this world delicious. The four of us split a cinnamon roll as an app, which was definitely doable. It was both huge and divine. The outside was crispy, the pecans were crunchy, and the inside was soft and gooey. It was love at first bite. Even my mother went back for seconds, thirds, and offered to lick the plate. Well worth it!!!
I got the chicken fried steak with potatoes and biscuit. The country gravy was unique, honestly gravy to me doesn’t really stick out from one restaurant to another- but this gravy was TASTY. So good! I love me some skillet potatoes- these were well seasoned with crispy parts that I loved. The biscuit itself was huge- fluffy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Was fabulous with some butter and jam. (I should’ve asked if they had apple butter, because that would’ve sent me!)
My dad got the brisket platter with baked beans and mac n cheese, and he offered for everyone to try it because the platter was HUGE. The brisket was fantastic, the mac n cheese was delicious, but the star of that plate was the baked beans. I don’t even LIKE baked beans! But these were beyond tasty- I’m sitting here salivating a week or so after the fact just thinking about them.
My mom and sister liked what they got, some pancakes for one and I believe shrimp for the other. But we all gushed over the other meals. So good!
We all agreed we cannot wait to come back here, everything was so delicious!! Do yourself a favor and DO NOT...
Read moreMy wife and I called the market yesterday, Sunday, to make sure it was open which it was explained yes they were open but not many vendors were there. When we arrived we parked in front of the Florida Cracker Restaurant not actually knowing what it was. There were no vendors so we decided to get breakfast at the Florida Cracker Restaurant where we parked. The atmosphere is very inviting and looking around we could see the portions of food were very large. When we ordered our food I requested decaffeinated coffee which when they brought my wife's drink the waitress stated they were brewing a fresh pot of coffee. Soon after we were delivered our food I requested the coffee. After several minutes waiting for the coffee I had to ask another waitress if I could get the coffee. I noticed many locals coming in as they were greeted by their names and immediately tended to without hesitation. I also observed waitresses sitting down with the locals to chat but we're not engaging with those of us who were not from the area. My wife and I felt like outsiders who were overstepping our boundaries in a new area only 25 miles from our home. The waitresses also walked around as if nothing mattered to them unless they already knew you. Additionally, we were not asked how everything was or asked if we needed anything after the coffee was delivered. We never got the bill which when we went to pay up front we had to explain where we were sitting and what we ordered. Again as if we didn't exist. Food is great and wait staff are very stand offish with those they do not know. I suggest they treat everyone including non locals with more attentiveness and sincerity as we are all paying...
