Sandwich Barn — Restaurant in Webster

Customer service was terrible. I stopped-in on a Sunday afternoon where there was no lunch rush and there were at least three employees between the till and kitchen. After a 5 minute wait, an employee stepped-out to the till and just stood there. No, "Hello! May I help you?". She just looked at me and smiled.

Next, I inquired on whether they were willing to provide substitutions. She said, "yes." and I placed my order. While waiting on said order, a young man came up to the counter and asked one of the employees, "which sandwitch is the best?". I can't remember her reply, but with a smile, she did ask him to come back to the kitchen(??). Normally, I wouldn't care. But we were already 10 minutes into waiting on my order and it was irritating to see said employee emphasizing more focus on the young man, than my order.

When the order finally arrived, it was incorrect. I politely asked the employee to correct the order... only to have them take their sweet time and again, incorrectly make it! This time, I was not happy.

I then sternly asked them to make it again. This time, recapping the details of the original order. While waiting, the young man made ANOTHER appearance and was promptly escorted into the kitchen.

When my order was complete... the employee stepped out of the kitchen where she TOSSED(not placed) my order onto the counter top and said, "there you go.". All while quickly turning away and rolling her eyes at me.

No apologies...no eye contact.

This time, I was livid. I calmly walked up to the counter and waited for her to make an appearance. When she did, I asked if there was a problem? She said no, reacted like nothing had happened, yet proceed to complain to me the lenghts they had to go through to provide the substitutions... the same substitutions that SHE said they could provide.

Suffice to say, after 3 attempts and nearly 30 minutes of waiting... the order was finally correct!

Bottom-line: I understand that good help is hard to find. But to me, allowing 3 "kids" to run a business is a receipe for disaster. If anything, please teach them some customer service basics. Also, if you're not willing to provide substitutions, please train your employees to not offer to do so.

Saddly, because of this experience... I will not be recommending this...

We went to Webster for a baseball game and in our search for food for the evening, we stumbled upon this place. Not only was the service amazing, I had a BLT wrap with maple bacon aoli which was UNBELIEVABLE!! One of the employees said she always wanted to make it as a wrap and I'm here to say-- definitely do that. It was incredible!! Located in the NE corner of Waynes Grocery Store. Nice deli sandwich & soup menu for lunch with a Caribou Coffee integrated. Food always has good flavor and bread is fresh.
