The Linden Store — Restaurant in Wellesley

This place is GREAT! I'm not from the area. I'm doing construction at Wellesley college. I usually try to find a good mom and pop close to the job. I just get so tired of fast food. All I'm gonna say is just go here if you want a high quality sandwich for a very reasonable price. Whenever it comes to sandwich places I always use Subway as a starting point, because we've all eaten at a Subway. If Subway was mini golf these folks are Tiger Woods. If you show up and there's 9 people in front of you don't worry. I think each employee does a speed ball before their shift. 9 people in front of you means a 4 1/2 minute wait. THEY JUST GO! Just so you know I'm not a total fan boy they are doing curbside pickup. This actually screws up the whole parking lot because it a loop. Jesus people put a mask on go inside it will take less time at the counter than it did to...

This is such a great place I don't know where to begin. I've been going there since I was a kid 20 years ago, and the same family that has run it forever still runs it. They recognized me even though ten years passed, my hair grew out a foot, and I finished puberty. They are very actively involved with the local community. They hire a lot of kids from the town and actually train them as family, not a minimum wage worker that they can replace. If you want to see kids who actually care about their job and know how to do it, go here. They aren't the stereotypical screen staring button jockey clerks you see at most other places. I grew up in Wellesley but have lived elsewhere for years. Recently, on my way to Fenway from NH I was inspired to call in to Linden Street thinking Id like a Linden Street Special to enjoy at Fenway. The shop was closing down at the moment I called but the man who answered heard my quick explanation of being on the way to Fenway and he kindly took my order. When I went to pick up, turns out he had already disassembled his deli slicer when I called, but reassembled to serve me: result I had my Special sitting atop the Green Monster at Fenway… can’t say how GREAT this was!
