The good: the bathroom was clean. The food was tasty. The bad: we asked which drinks gave refills and the waitress said the aguas frescas. So we ordered that. We waited a good while to get our orders taken. The waitress wasn't very good so we were waiting a while to get our refills and get our tickets to pay. We decided to get up to go to the front to pay ourselves before the waitress noticed and came and told us she'd get our tickets ready. When we asked for our refills we were literally told we couldn't take them with us!!! What kind of service is that? We delibertly PAYED for it and would have asked for it sooner had our waitress came sooner. I said "I wish we had been told that when I asked about refills." I received no response. Then my husband goes to pay with a card cause their sign and menu say they take card and the waitress at the cash register insisted on cash. So why say you take card if you wont take it? We enjoyed the food but the first impression will keep us from going back. The day I'll pay 3.50 and be told I can't have a refill on a drink after I was told I could. Smh. And while I understand that you had a new waitress, when I asked her about our refills, she had me ask the other waitress with her. It was the second waitress that told me we couldn't have refills in front of our waitress. We had two waitresses. Training people shouldn't have stopped us from being able to get...
Read moreGreat place with lots of room and it's very cold 🥶 .. The coffee is a very sweet cinnamon like taste drink. The food is very traditional. we're talking Mexican Serria type breakfast.. The only thing guacamole had alot salt. The waitresses are attentive but a little stale for my liking. I like to go to a place business where there are happy people. Sometimes, a restaurant might be mid on the food level. But, if people are wonderful and happy, I'll keep coming back to support . We came in at 9 a.m., and they gave us lunch menus, which was odd. I asked for bfast menu, and the girl said they didn't have one . She then told what they offered by memory .. So make sure to process all the info to order a freaking plate😅. Then she all plates came with chilaquiles. In other words, they are just chip with salsa on top, nothing to write home about.. I told her what I wanted, which was nopales with no chilaquiles, and she couldn't comprehend. She had this face like we don't offer that, and then she goes ( oh, you want to make ur own plate). I didn't see the point of that.. Especially when I'm the one paying for my food. In other words, order what we offer and don't ask for anything special face... I would rather spend my money somewhere else if they are going to act like that. Oh, well. Happy...
Read moreThis is more of 4 1/2 stars....first off...the food is actually delicious! The speciality here is obviously masa. Huaraches, sopes, pellizcadas.
I went and had a sampler plate overall...the fajita (cecina) is on point! It's super thin and falls apart as you eat it. The sopes and Enchiladas rojas are tasty. The deshebrada goes great on their sopes. The flautas were okay....it felt like the chicken needed just a tad more seasoning.
I've also had the enmoladas and I don't know...it was okay. Not to nitpick but my wife uses Goya mole at home and it comes out better....so that plate was okay.
My father ordered himself a huarache and thoroughly enjoyed it...I would recommend if you go here...order a huarache because that is their speciality.
Other points...the place itself has great ambience. It feels very homey...humble. But it's a little pricey...and you can see how on the menu they raised they prices on everything by $1 or more. They simply scratched out the previous price with pen and wrote in the higher price next to it....and they only take cash or use CashApp. Great service tho...the waitresses are extremely nice.
Definitely recommend... just make sure you order...
