I've been patronizing Golden Gyros at least once or twice a month since I was a child. It was only 5 blocks away & every thing there is fire. Best ice cream in town and great cheeseburgers you can enjoy outside on the dining patios that are perfect for summer, particularly for teenagers...I know I have a lot of great memories hanging out with my friends there just socializing, eating good food and just being girl crazy teenagers. In fact, I sorta owe Golden Gyros because I met my first serious GF there! Thank you Golden Gyros, the existence of your business helped make a man out of me! 😉
Just a random observation that myself and others have noticed over the years about the particular type of young girls the owner seems to prefer to hire. Up front it's always extra attractive teenage girls, they typically have blond hair & they often look very similar, like they could be related. Now this doesn't imply anything nefarious or inappropriate is going on there. I mean maybe it's just good business, I know as kids at least one of us would be talking to a girl that worked there and if we went in to talk to the girl inevitably we would all end up buying food we never intended to get. So obviously it works. Idk...but it's just odd that up front I've never seen a guy employee (besides the owner,) and I've not once seen a girl that is...
Read moreGolden Gyros has been around since 1947, and their longevity is a testament to the quality and standards that they've held to this day. Nice place to eat, but no sit down service, just take out. Great food. Main entrees are generously portioned and delicious, as well as the sides (Try the onion rings, traditionally breaded and HUGE!). Nice variety of Greek and American selections. Takes a bit longer for food because they cook everything fresh, so call ahead to avoid the wait time. Prices are slightly higher than usual, but you get quality product for your money. The drive through is a nice touch, but expect to sometimes wait to be able to order if the place is busy, because of the fact that the food is all made fresh to order. Burgers are cooked only one temperature but still tender and juicy, and only with American as a cheese option. Not a deal breaker, as I order them almost every time I go there. Custards are made in-house, and on par with other custard places in town. Service is decent, and friendly. They are cash only, but have an ATM if all you have is a card handy. I recommend them as a must when you get a craving for...
Read moreWell I'm never a complain kinda guy but, here we go. I usually would recommend this place to many. But today I had an encounter with a rude and no common sense employee. First off my order was $20.00 for a Gyros Supreme and a Shake. I ask for feta cheese and they gave me 9 big blocks of feta cheese for one freaking Gyros. So I asked the young lady why did it cost so much. And we broke it down. The Gyros was $11 cause its the Supreme and the Shake was $5. So she charged me $4 for 9 blocks of freaking cheese that I don't need! And her question to me was. "What do you want me to do about it? Now I work in the customer service industry and this is definitely not how you handle business. At least should have said " I'm sorry, can I fix it for you? And give me the option to say yes I would like my $4 dollars back and take all the freaking cheese I didn't ask for. So I guess I will NEVER SPEND MY HARD EARNED MONEY WITH THEM ANYMORE! Due her attitude and being rude. UGH! IRRITATED! But life goes on. And I'm pretty sure they raised there...
