I am very disappointed with how Grebes bakery handled my cookie order for my son's birthday. I called to place an order on Jan 11 for my son's birthday cookie order. This order wasn't needed untill Feb 2, but I wanted to make sure they could create custom cookies for his party. I spoke to someone and was also given an email to use to send photos. Jan 30, someone from Grebes called and stated that I was given the wrong email and asked if I could resend to a new email. I did this right away. I received a call right back stating that the cookies would be a little different from the photo since it wasn't very clear from the internet. At this time, I stated that was fine because Grebes did my son's Pokemon cookies last year and used their own internet images with my permission. I wasn't really particular on the exact picture, just wanted something similar. At this time, I was given a quote of $50 something 18 cookies. Well Grebes had the nerves to call me on Jan 31 around 3:30 pm to say they wouldn't be able to make my cookies because the owner said its more work than what they quoted me. I was furious. I said that was very unprofessional to call this short of notice considering I gave them weeks in advance to tell me this couldn't be done. I asked why did things change from just yesterday? No explanation given. She stated cookies could be done for over $100, and if I wanted the cookies I would have to pay now. Now as a bakery they should know most places require 48-hour notice, so what was I supposed to do then. I am disgusted that they didn't compromise for their error in dealing with this matter. I have ordered Pokemon, Caillou, and Luau cookies in the past from them. Being a customer who has provides business on more than one occasion obviously means nothing. Thanks...

I have been doing business with Grebe's Bakery for over 20 Years do to the fact that my Mother & my Uncle used to work for Grebe's as Teenagers. I have always had a good experience there UNTIL last week when I stopped in there on November 15, 2017. I was buying rolls for a Potluck at work.

I ordered 4 Dozen rolls. The personnel in the store OVERCHARGED me. It came to 24.00 for 4 Dozen rolls. We spoke with the manager in the warehouse on the phone after we got Home. The manager in the warehouse stated that the store manager OVERCHARGED me. The Magager in the warehouse who is above the store manager stated that it is $ 19.99 for 4 Dozen rolls including tax. Not $ 24.00. I have the receipt to prove this.

The manager in the warehouse said that she would have the store manager call me. The store manager called & left a message on my answering machine LYING & stating that she told me the prices.

The Truth is the store manager did not tell me the prices at all. When I arrived at Grebe's Bakery, she asked what can she do for me. I told her that I needed 4 Dozen rolls. She said OK & started filling the order. She NEVER once told me the prices.

I am not so much upset that I was overcharged. I am upset that the store manager lied to try to cover her own butt. She could not even take responsibility for her screw up. They are just ticked off that I bought my Ham from Cermak for the Potluck because Cermak sells Polish Ham imported from Poland, where Grebe's Bakery don't.

I have been a customer of Grebe's Bakery for over 20 Years until now. After this, I will never do business with Grebe's Bakery again. From now on I will go to National Bakery or Lopez Bakery or Dunkin Doughnuts. Grebe's Bakery just lost a valuable customer for good

I had the most unsettling experience this morning in Grebes. Grebes has always been a favorite of my mom’s who has been a customer for over 20 years after moving to WI, growing up I have enjoyed Grebe’s since a little girl until my experience today. With the hopes of ordering deli sandwiches, we were not greeted and were stared down by the employees. One woman was waiting to place an order also. My mom greeted the women working and asked for the sandwich form to place our orders. We were told they are not taking sandwich orders until 10am and then they proceeded to stare us down while we browsed the crullers and drinks (it was 8:30AM when we walked in). The one other customer, a middle-aged white woman was whispering to an associate which I overheard for her to proceed with a sandwich order. We decided to purchase the pre made sandwiches that were under a heated lamp, 2 apple juices, and mini crullers. The woman ringing us up stared at us disgustingly and said nothing until we said have a good day on the way out. Our sandwiches were lukewarm and unsatisfying. My mom was disheartened by this experience the most as this has never happened before. I share this because no one should experience this kind of customer service nor discrimination. I do not plan on returning to Grebe’s after the experience...

Wisconsin’s best kept secret food!

Pumpkin Cheesecake Honeymooner: In 1937 Grebe's Bakery was born in Irene Grebe's home kitchen. In the 1950's Jim Sr. Gebe took over operations and began selling products to area supermarkets. Today the bakery is in its fourth generation of Grebe owners. Grebe's distributes their doughnuts to Milwaukee area Speedways, so I was fortunate enough not to have to make the full commute to the actual bakery this time around (though I can tell you the place is a sight to behold). The October Honeymooner of the month is Pumpkin Cheesecake and isn't it beautiful!? Grebe's official description is a "Pumpkin Spice Cream Cheese Buttercream Filled Honeymooner dusted with a Graham Cracker Crust Crumble". The dough was flavorful, fresh, and perfectly chewy (it's a yeast/raised doughnut). My doughnut had plenty of icing and a generous dollop of the buttercream frosting in the center. It's on the spicier side (which I historically don't like), but it's not an in your face overpowering spice. It didn't exactly conjure up cheesecake in my mind, but it was a phenomenal pumpkin spice doughnut. I'll be grabbing some more before they vanish like a ghost after the 31st. Please bring this back next year!) Doughboy approved. Doughboy_Food_Reviews *They also offer pumpkin crullers and muffins

Very much thought of concern. From the patrons that operate this family bakery. Was very close to family at times. Or maybe getting myself in trouble. It is a mobile culinary fresh food kitchen. That can feed a half a city. As to the abilities of this family-owned business. Very nice people close to heart. Thank you those Grebe's Bakery. 🌼🙏 Come iunn Mike🦍 just need some really good ham and rolls🪵🦍🤺🤺😁 Was just thinking of my father who I often call Daddy. Along with another very good labor and skill technician friend. Hoping not for fallout in the 2024 elections. And if so. With a shrug. What happened to all the donuts? They made us cook again kid.🫣🌼🌼🧙 The ham and lunch meat is delicious y'all !!!
