TomKen's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in West Allis

The food is good but customer service is terrible I have been there twice. The first time our waitress barely tended to us or came around and when she did she was just miserable and barely stayed a few seconds to talk. We liked the food so overlooked that. The next day we came back with friends one happened to be pregnant with twins. They were busy so they took our names down I saw the pad and our name was first on the list than the girl went to people behind us that came in after. We were standing and waiting for about 40 minutes. I saw one table open up and see a couple go sit down I figured ok maybe I didn't see them (they came from the bar) and maybe they had come in before us. But when a table near us opened up and the people behind us that walked in after us sat down I confronted them saying we clearly were here before you. They indicated the girl working here said we can sit here. So I found the girl who took our names down and asked what's going on she said we were last on the the list I got upset and said but I saw on your pad we were first and those people came after us and you went and put thier name after us on your pad. She pretended that she didn't make the list. We ended up leaving and will never go back. The food isn't worth that. A couple friends and I came here the other day for the first time. We arrived at 8 to a packed room, only saw one table open besides our own. All different kinds of people. Great start, that's what I like to see.

A server came by for our drink order, which arrived quickly. The tap selection was solid, but they also had the usual domestics/bloodys, etc. Then a couple other staff checked on us, until our actual server took our order.

I got the insane (hotness) special, friend one got one of the Buffalo options, and friend two got a split order between insane and something sweet, I forgot what.

That only matters because none of it seemed to be correct. The buffalo didn't taste like buffalo, the insane didn't make either of us suffer in any way, and the sweet ones were barely glazed let alone sweet. By the time we realized this we had eaten several wings each so we didn't say anything, being our first time and all.

I am absolutely positive had we said something they would have corrected it, but I'm still taking one star off. Every piece of the order was incorrect. The service was excellent, the room was busy and lively, and the beer and food both tasted good despite the above. I would definitely give it another shot, so until I do...

Absolutely phenomenal fried chicken, and chicken wings. I strongly recommend asking them what their special sauces are for the week there's always something new and delicious to try. But the regular everyday sauces are really good too. The jerk and the peanut butter Sriracha are by far my two favorites. And the bartenders are amazing aswell. 12/10 will definitely keep coming back.(update) They are still so great, i tried the garlic buffalo and its one of the best buffalo's, not too hot, and the flavor is amazing. Also if you come here and they have the blueberry BBQ or the butterscotch BBQ definitely get one of those. Their crinkle cut fries and the potato wedges have always been perfect, nice fluffy insides, crispy outside, and the food is always hot and fresh, I literally cannot recommend this place enough. AND if the owner sees this PLEASE add the butterscotch BBQ to permanent sauce list, it is quite literally the best BBQ I've ever had in my life, the 3 friends I had with me also agreed, I would buy and drink that stuff by bottle!!!!!
